Clutch went out of my 460 powered truck last Saturday. Naturally I had a new one Monday. Unfortunately I’m planting right now and can’t get time to put the new clutch in. So I can totally relate to your getty-ness over those seals. Cause I grin just knowing my clutch is waiting!!!! Luckily I’ve...

Cable locks can make theft more difficult. But mostly it’s just that I don’t personally care for a cluttered up look....and Pappawheely is right. I see tons of people in my own little town with brand new high lift jacks, winches, tow straps- and my personal favorite- a shiny new chain hanging...

You know....,that ain’t a bad idea. I ordered that kit where they send you a chip of every color. That stuff is pretty slick. I may need to look at it again. Might even be a tan color that could work. I appreciate the suggestion!

I’m getting a little longer in years now. Two tone trucks are more desirable to me than they used to be. Wrapping is definitely an option- I have a good friend who does that for a living. A green pinstripe would probably draw it together. I bet a white line-ex job on the cap would look really...

The flares are bushwacker street flares. They are ok. The extenda-flares on my other truck cover more and look better IMO. The mud flaps are home made. They were for a semi and I cut them down and used sheet metal screws to attach them to the inner fender wells.

Well, today I put the new cap on. I like the fit and finish very well. The style suits me to a tee! I’m not really crazy about the color on my truck....but I don’t hate it either. The more I look at the cap, the more I’m convinced it will cost a fortune to re-paint. So I’m thinking it’ll just be...

Chorky....sad to hear you’ve had all these problems. I’m always amazed at the luck one person has versus the luck of another. You’ve taken a good route to upgrade your truck to something you’d be happy with. The only thing I can offer is that most of your problems are somebody else’s fault...

THANK YOU!!!!! I am familiar with this stuff and couldn’t for the life of me think what it’s called. I just looked on amazon and it’s available there and not terribly expensive. I had another buddy that used unistrut and it was very versatile and very strong. This may be a good direction for me...

Haven’t updated in a LONG time. And really there’s just not much to update about. The last year has been very busy with work. Camping was at a minimum and vacationing didn’t happen. But a few minor upgrades to the truck took place. I did finally get the rear tire carrier finished up. I added...

To somewhat validate Pappa’s claim.....I drove a second gen dodge with a cummins for a dozen years or more. I was looking into coil spring spacers back when leveling kits weren’t really all that popular yet. No joke- I ran across coil spring spacers that were up to 1” thick because Chrystler...

Death wobble isn’t a term that’s exclusive to steering components!!!! I freaking HATE loading and unloading my camper. At present I’m seriously considering selling it...I think a tent will do just fine from now on.

Chorky.....I’m having a hard time imagining that you have a frame issue (cracked). I guess anything is possible. But that’s not likely. I’ve heard good things about the sky stuff being very good. I’m sorry to hear that your components aren’t up to snuff. For the moment I don’t know how you could...

If you do Instagram....there’s an ole’ boy there who goes by @theadventurepenthouse He’s got a really cool 2nd gen Dodge that he put a cool top on. He built the interior himself and it’s even got a pop-up roof. I’m not sure if he modified a bought utility type topper- or if it’s a store bought...

I like it!!!!! That’s optimal use of space! Working things out is the fun part to me. I enjoy setting up a particular layout, trying it out, and then completely starting over. I’m strange. But I eventually end up with something that works well. I currently have a great setup to use my truck for...

I’ve still got my old Jayco slide in. It’s a pop up is about the only thing about it that I’m really happy about. The more I got to messing with it the less I liked it. I don’t think it’d be hard to shake it to pieces off road......or maybe in road. But not so much because of rot, it’s pretty...

    Project "Autonomous" F-350

Just wanted to give you a hard time Mike. I always thought a hard side would be enjoyable to use- but didn't think it would be any fun off-road. But there's a thread here at the portal for people doing just that. The U-Haul camper will be really awesome when you get it done. But custom usually...

I'm just dying see this thing come together. My suspicion is that it's gonna be a really cool truck. I'm not really a horsepower junky....but I LOVE things that are bomb proof. I like good parts. I like things that are proven and dependable. Looks like this old truck is gonna have a LOT of...
