    An Axe - Seriously?

Check out Gransfors Bruks at http://www.gransfors.com/htm_eng/index.html. Their splitting mauls are excellent, and all of their axes are razor sharp. These beat anything you will find in any hardware or home improvement or big box outdoor store.

Limited Slip Faceoff: Detroit TrueTrac vs. ARB Air Locker

Unless you're rock crawling, I can't see the need for locking differentials. The ARBs are nice, but they are more than double the cost of a good locker or limited slip differential. Everyone that I know of that has ARB air lockers installed has had leaks in them, later if not sooner. For...

COOL NEW PRODUCT - HAS ANYONE MOUNTED A CAB TOP (3rd light) LIGHT MOUNT ?

Here's a picture of this type of mount from a different manufacturer. It gives you a good idea of how the mount attaches to the cab of the truck. http://www.cargear.com/Products/9594-cab-top-light-mount.aspx

COOL NEW PRODUCT - HAS ANYONE MOUNTED A CAB TOP (3rd light) LIGHT MOUNT ?

We've been looking for a way to mount some auxiliary backup lights for our full-size truck, and we found these: http://www.pickupspecialties.com/Light_bars/truck_cab_top_light_mount.htm . It looks like a great way to mount some auxiliary lights and antennas. Does anyone installed one of these?

Did you have to use Chevrolet/GMC fog lights or were you able to buy aftermarket lights? What size, 4"? It would be great to be able to put some better fog lights on these trucks.

Did the Z71 Tahoe valence bolt right up to the front bumper, and were you able to use the stock fog light connectors?

    Jevy's humble M-416 build thread

So far the Rotopax containers we have are working fine. The only issue I had with the tanks was properly adjusting the mount or brackets, or whatever they're called. I like everything to fit tight and not move around. You just have to play with yours until you get them like you want them. I...

ANYONE INSTALL BODY LIFTS ON 1/2-ton & 3/4-ton CHEVROLET / GMC TRUCKS?

Thanks! Our Silverado is a 2001 model. If it helps, I read that 1999-2006 are the pretty much the same in terms of engine, undercarriage, and suspension components.

ANYONE INSTALL BODY LIFTS ON 1/2-ton & 3/4-ton CHEVROLET / GMC TRUCKS?

Has anyone have any experience installing body lifts on 1/2-ton or 3/4-ton Chevrolet or GMC trucks? We have only seen a few kits out there. If anyone has installed these body lift kits, how have they worked out? We're they easy to install, and do you like/regret the decision to use them? Can...

    Jack's 2007 Chevy Build

'Very nice bumper! We're looking at the exact same one for our Silverado Z71 1/2-ton. Aluminum? What is the weight of the bumper, and how much more was the aluminum over the steel? Because we have a 1/2-ton model, we have to watch the weight on the front end. We plan to mount a winch too...

'Very nice Viair setup on your Chevrolet Silverado. Did you fabricate the mounts for the air compressor and tank? Please post any pictures you have of the wiring installation. In particular, we're interested in how you mounted your on/off switch inside the cab and how you ran the power leads...

ANYONE USE A FULL-SIZE (20lb) PROPANE TANK IN THEIR M100/M416 or 1/4-TON TRAILERS?

We're considering installing a propane tank in our recently modified M416 trailer that we've modified for camping. There's not much room inside the 1/4-ton trailers, as you know, so we're looking for the best way to install a propane tank. We've seen smaller propane tanks installed on trailer...

We're considering installing one of the Helton or other brand heat exchangers in our full size truck for washing off after camping, hunting, fishing, and after fun days at the lake or beach. Right now we have a ZODI HOT TAP HP, and it is a VERY portable and useful unit, but we'd like something...

    2M Recommendations For Beginners Please!

Having a CB for trail riding use is the only circumstance where we would need on as well. It's my understanding that you can't transmit/receive on the CB bands with a Ham radio. Its that correct? I reason that if we need a CB to talk to others on trail rides, we might as well get one that...
