Sadly I did not get over to work on the camper this weekend... but stuff got done. Mike has apparently been working like gangbusters to get this done (he needs his shop back...heh) and has done a lot of work this past week.
He installed the back door and installed the rear window in the door...
Wow... that looks like an awesome place to start because its like 75% there already! I also agree that the HF trailers are less than stout, this is looking like a nice burly unit.
Following.
We are fortunate to have some great local places that make some killer bacon. On Vancouver Island there is a place caller Hertel's (http://hertelmeats.ca/) and its worth the little extra that they charge. Super smokey and nice thick cut. I really like their Ayrshire Bacon, it's like a combo...
I used POR 15 on my CDN M101 build a few years ago. The tub was rusty, but only surface rust here and there, nothing major. I ground, prepped and sanded the tub and fenders and frame. I used the POR 15 clear Metal Prep to prep all the bare metal, and then coated all the inside with and outside...
Tonight I picked up 4 castors to make a camper storage cart with. I am going to build it up in the next couple of days so I will have a spot to keep it and to roll it around when not on the truck. Small steps in a long journey.
8" poly steel castors from my favorite bits and pieces store...
I think I remember your rig and you from year one of the BCOR? Or someone with a VERY similar setup. Yeah, these events are awesome and you get a great mix of people and experiences from hardcore overland travellers to weekend warriors like me! Worth the effort to attend a few.
Me too Shirk... me too!
I am really getting excited to get it out on the road and to do some camping in it!! Need to look at some air bags still. Anyone have any experience with the Pacbrake stuff? I have AirLift coil insert bags now and have used them in the past...but they are only good to...
I like the Dickinson LPG heater. I have contemplated on... only they are a bit big for my setup. I have always liked these SpaceKap units, the father in law has one and it is brilliant. He can camp in it and haul his quad.
GLWS! Free bump!
I bet! I was at the dealership a few weeks ago getting some work done on my wifes Van, and was looking at their stock of 2019's. Oh my... there was a Graphite 1500 LTD that was particularly amazing. I love the new 12" screen... and if I am going to get one of these trucks, that screen is...
A little more progress this weekend. I was hoping to get more completed, but it has been a CRAZY week for both Mike and I for different reasons. Me, work...him, his work. Ok, same reasons. heh I had planned to get over to his shop a couple of times this past week to get some more varnishing...
Just a guess... but the humidity might help with the curing? I know many types of Urethanes and other types of caulk and paints cure faster in higher humidity. Monsta Liner and many of the bed liners are the same.
Still just a guess as to why the floor water. heh
