XJ increased GVW with little lift?

Gonna be hard to get less lift, but you can call Deaver and ask them to build you a set of leafs. A pair of springs will cost as much as the entire OME kit.

    Thoughts on the Chevy Avalanche

If you want to sleep in it, and you're keeping your pickup go with a SUV. You can sleep in a Tahoe no problem. Burb might feel a bit big for just one or two people.

    2006 Suburban Build

This thread is great, but, don't drive yourself crazy. 3" of lift with an aftermarket UCA, 4.10s, and 34-35s gives you a lot of capability. Remember, a Burb is looooooooong so if you wanna get silly you need to lift it big, swap tons, and run 40s. The more you mod, the more you become...

    Nice grab, she looks great!

Should I buy this 03 D2 as my first rover?

My D1 was a 95, and theyre more old school with a distributor cap and rotor and OBD1 rather than the GEMS computer controlled ignition. I preferred it, TBH.

    Thoughts on the 2017+ Tahoe?

Yeaaaaaaaaaaa. Exo cage, 44/60, fully plated and armored, etc. Geared to 5.13s, it actually managed pretty OK for what it was. But it was SLOWWWWW. My 93 before that was a lighter and much more 'expo-rated' and scaled at like 3800 loaded for a long trip. Then I got hit by the rock crawling and...

I actually saw a green D5 with a bit of mud on it yesterday and I didnt hate it. A tire carrier on the back would fix it, probably.

    Thoughts on the 2017+ Tahoe?

I drove a 5500lb XJ with 190hp for 4 years, and a 4300lb Land Rover with 185hp for 3 years, so these new trucks might as well be the Millennium Falcon. Driving from NY to SC he sure does. And I drive my father in law's Silverado regularly and it'll crack 24 on 2 hour highway drives. City? Well...

    Thoughts on the 2017+ Tahoe?

The last thing a Tahoe can be labeled as is underpowered or a truck that gets poor MPG. My buddy gets 22 no problem with his, my father in law routinely gets 24 in his Silverado. Fuel economy is the best part about modern GM trucks.

    Thoughts on the 2017+ Tahoe?

Program out the AFM and keep the oil fresh. A nice front end kit (coil overs and upper control arms) and some bigger tires are all you need.

GX470 the rear window does not move. GX460 it can pop open separately.

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

2 speed transfer case in the SCV6 models. Something that was standard in all V8s.

Prices are holding for these trucks, clean examples are going up. Sure, cheap high miles ones will always be around but I'd still call $8k for ~100k miles clean rust free one a deal.

    Suburban/Tahoe(and GMC) pic/build thread

You still have the rear sway bar attached? My Silverado has no problem stuffing 33s, I dont remember if theres a sway bar on it or not. I feel like the coil sprung trucks should flex as good or better.

Super duty has vacuum-operated auto locking hubs with a manual "on" override. Every part time four wheel drive on sale currently (and for the last many years) and lots of awd models have some sort of front (or rear, in the case of many crossovers) axle disconnect system.

    Next truck

Yea, true. I was thinking about the final gear for "best MPG" scenarios, but the multiple ODs is killer for towing, hauling and whatever.

    Next truck

The final overdrive gears are still the same, ~.67, in every overdrive from like the 80s til now in the 1/2 tons.

    Thoughts: best Toyota pick up

My buddy towed a built TJ on 35s with his 3rd gen. It was impressive seeing it walk away from my buddy's GMT800 2500 Silverado, which was also towing a built LJ... a slightly heavier rig and a slightly heavier trailer.. but still impressive. Tacoma got much better fuel mileage too.
