I’d guess it’s like most all Northstar popups.
There is 3/4” plywood 3” wide laid flat on the perimeter of the roof.
The only other place there is wood is around the roof vents.
The rest of the roof is really thin (.035??) aluminum over styrofoam with the ceiling board(like 1/8” Masonite...
If by suicide jacks you are referring to the old style tripod jack that just had a piece of angle at the top(not even attached to camper)……. These are not them

Two of my truck campers I put a small(1/8”) bungee holding the handle in the closed direction. The hooks on the little bungees are small, so a wood screw in the appropriate spot is perfect to attach to

Fantastic job. The original configuration was definitely wonky, but made a great starting point.

When I had my Alaskan on my Ram with 33x12.50 tires , I had the same issue with tires hitting the front tripods . I just used a stack of 2x12”s nailed together to make a block. I took the front tripods off and jacked on the blocks. I think I had a carriage bolt sticking up from the top that the...
