    Smart BatteryProtect LVD

That is one of the spec sheets I was reading earlier today. The only one I've found is a Hersee 24420, and it's rated at 35A amps on the NC contacts, 85A on the NO. I need a NC rating of at least 65 amps (I think)...probably 100A for two coach batteries. If 35A is enough for the alternator...

    Smart BatteryProtect LVD

I don't understand this. If you can simply charge multiple batteries in parallel with a single charger, then why do they make multi-bank chargers? I know that you can, but is it the best way to keep multiple batteries in parallel healthy? Or, say, is any theoretical benefit to individual...

    Smart BatteryProtect LVD

OK. I can't find a high-amperage normally-closed relay or solenoid and I don't want the mess of joining them in parallel. So much for doing this on the cheap. I'm going to use two Smart Victrons because they can be used as a high-amperage, normally closed relays (thanks to the remote disconnect...

2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

Been playing with the layout in the rear since deciding that I am no longer interested in drawers because they are highly overrated. Too heavy, too expensive, too hard to remove on occasion, and not nearly as convenient as I expected them to be. This is what I came up with. Fridge on the...

    Smart BatteryProtect LVD

Cool. I have all the time in the world for them to charge when on the NOCO at home, so the 10 amps isn't a problem. On the drive home they will receive a partial, higher amperage charge from the alternator. The NOCO is really just for maintaining them. I've noticed that it takes much longer to...

    Smart BatteryProtect LVD

I've been reading up on my charger at NOCO. According to this, I can use a two-bank charger while both banks are connected in parallel without separating them during charging....is that right? If so, my life just got easy. The only difference from this example is that I have two 125 Ah batteries.

    Smart BatteryProtect LVD

OK, I've been outside staring at the Jeep for a couple of hours. While on the verge of reinstalling the National Luna Power Pack....I've never really liked it. Don't get me wrong, it's a great "starter" battery system, but it is just too big and I need more capacity and automation. So, The new...

    Electric Chain Saw???

I had forgotten about this thread. I still have the Stihl electric and plan to keep using it this camping season. My old man was a logger for 20-odd years, so I went camping with him to make sure I didn't kill myself (basic saw instruction). Over a few weekend camping trips our average was two...

30-40l drawer fridge, anyone have one?

Wow...I didn't know these existed. I've been using a NL Weekender 52 for a couple of years, but the Jeep is so high that getting into it without a slide is a pain (I've had a slide....but that is a pain too with all the slide out...slide in..._). The NL is just too high. It makes it really tough...

    Kermit Chair

Well, I ordered a wide-walnut Kermit with extensions, cup holders, and the upgrade bag. This is a lot of money for a camp chair at over $400.00 with shipping...but if it truly is comfortable, packs small, reliable, and repairable with a lifetime warranty I will be happy. Hopefully.

Outback Fuel Mileage on Oversize tires?

I don't have larger tires on our 2016 Outback 3.6R, but we consistantly saw 26 MPG average for daily driving and 19 MPG when pulling a 13 foot Scamp camper (1900 lbs.) Last fall I put a James Baroud RTT on it for the winter because I had to place to store the tent. It knocked us down to 20.6 MPG...

Stow-able dog bed/cot for spoiled camp pooch

Thanks for posting those guys. I'd prefer something that gets a little smaller if it exists. Last night I dug into my old backpacking gear and found two Helinox camp chairs that I had forgotten about (one small and one large). The small one (Helinox One) flipped over frontwards the first time...

2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

And just two more after pics: I'm kindof excited about putting the Propex in this location. The propane runs for both the Propex and quick-release for the kitchen will be short. I also like that the tent is about the same height as the tool box (should help with aerodynamics). Tomorrow I'm...

2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

Some thinking lead me to realize that I can move the camp table to the front of the rack now that it is longer. This also helps to move weight back over the front axles. It's a bit of a stretch to get the table in and out in this location...but favoring the drivers' side made it easier to reach...

2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

Bolted the new brackets together this morning and am in the mood to get them installed. Now, there is only one tricky part to lowering this tent (by removing the Thule load bars). The side vents on the RTT are a little wider than the internal dimensions of the rack. I unbolted the RTT from...

Stow-able dog bed/cot for spoiled camp pooch

Hi, I have a 20 lbs. dog and she doesn't like to lay in the dirt. Since she sleeps in the RTT with me, I don't particularly want her to lie in the dirt either. In the past I've hauled around a human camp chair for her to curl up in at camp (usually in her sleeping bag) and have decided that I...
