Rear awning for James Broud Space ideas

Have you all seen the Eezi-awn Stealth? It looks like the answer to my initial post. Rear awning and ladder storage (outside of the sleeping area). Costs a bunch, weighs a lot....but very cool. I am going to try an Eezi-awn Globetrotter on a trailer next, but if that doesn't work the Stealth...

Another JK 2-door stock-height overland suspension advice thread

Well, an update: I am buying an AT Chaser from another forum member. Get to pick it up a week from today and am pretty excited. So, though it may be possible to setup a 2-door JK with an RTT....I wouldn't advise doing so. Thanks for the advice everyone.

    Max Coupler bolt diameter

Hi All, I'm researching parts I will need to pick up an AT Chaser that I bought. I need a receiver hitch (rise) to mate with the coupler. Can anyone measure their max coupler and tell me the diameter of the bolt? I'd guess it's 1 inch, but could be 3/4 from the picture. I have not been able to...

Another JK 2-door stock-height overland suspension advice thread

Well, the wife wants me to leave the Subaru alone and told me to buy a new rig, Ha! But I can't bring myself to do it. Been eyeing the AT Overland Chaser or Horizon. Anyone have experience with either of them on a 2 door JK? As I said, I don't do any rock crawling. Just exploring and driving up...

Cascade Wanderer, thanks for the detailed info. I really like the stance of your JK and very might well try your approach to leveling it out. Another, somewhat radical option I'm thinking about is to remove the top and rack. Yakima (I believe) makes a set of cross bars that will attach to the...

Another JK 2-door stock-height overland suspension advice thread

Hi, here are a few pics: Sorry about the sideways pics, I tried to upload a few different ways but couldn't fix it. I really want this to work, but at this point I may have to switch back to the Subaru. Not sure I want to invenst another 5 grand into lifts, wheels, tires, etc. just to learn...

Another JK 2-door stock-height overland suspension advice thread

Hi, I agree. The problem is that this is all paid for. I moved the tent to an Outback for 6 months and it was very tolerable. Road driving was awesome, but on a week-long trip I couldn't get into a couple of camp sites and it turned the whole trip into a bummer. My co-camper had a full-sized...

Another JK 2-door stock-height overland suspension advice thread

It's time to get serious about my 2-door JK overland build and I need advice from those who are knowledgable or have pertinent experience. Nearly all my "camping" items have finally been paid for, (fridge, RTT, power, etc) and it's time for me to get serious about the suspension issues (which I...

Rugged, warm pants with reinforced knees and seat?

http://leaf.arcteryx.com/product.aspx?country=ca&language=en&gender=mens&category=Hardshell&model=Alpha-Pant-Gen-2 I bit the bullet and bought a Gen 1 set of these (with the Alpha jacket too). They are more or less Goretex 3, tough as heck, and very easy to put on without taking off your boots...

    Subaru Outback roof rack options

If you ever decided to make up a batch of your custom mounts, I would probably buy a set to try on my 2016. How many inches is it from the top, center of the roof to the top of the round bar? Looks like it is a couple inches lower than my current Yakima/landing pad setup.

Beating a dead horse, but.... Hiking boots?

I didn't read the whole thread so forgive me if this is repetitive..., but after three years of limping around I found these: http://www.hokaoneone.com/tor-footwear/tor-ultra-hi-wp/1008334.html. They are very light, water proof and last me for about 1 year per pair. The colors are pretty...

    JK Acceleration issues/loss of power

I have tried the info in this link....but mine is a 2007. I'll bet it applied to your 2013 too. http://project-jk.com/jeep-jk-write-ups/jeep-jk-wrangler-diagnostic-trouble-codes-dtc-how-to-check-them-what-they-mean Then, just Google the code.

    Garmin InReach Explorer+

Oh, and, if you pick one up, go with the plan that costs about $15 bucks a month to start. I think it's 20 text messages included & a fee for anything over (10 cents each or so). They will let you "up" the plan at anytime. It's best to start small and keep a few bucks aside for overage charges...

    Garmin InReach Explorer+

It might have sounded like I was sour above, but I love my InReach. Mine doesn't have the maps, but weather reports and being able to say goodnight to my wife on a trip make it worth the cost. Of course, engine trouble, broken leg, crazy meth head...no problem. Just text for help. If I lost it...
