Must be a reginal thing. Around here (Canada) base F150 Raptor is about 25K more than a Trailhunter.
Either is an insane amount of money to pay for a truck to me.
F150 Crew cab shortbed (157") is pretty close to the Super Duty Crew cab short bed (159")
Top is current Gen F150 bottom column is Super Duty. Looks like a difference of 2 feet.
I'm guessing those XL's with the 6450 GVWR were 2.7L V6's. Trucks with the 2.7 have a lighter frame. You used to be able to option 2.7L trucks with a payload package that would bring payload up to similar levels as a 3.5 or 5.0 equipped truck. Not sure if that option is still available...
Depends on trim. If you get a loaded Tremor, it's basically a Lariat with off road knick knacks. So, payload might be the same as OP's current truck.
For reference, my truck is an XLT 302a. My payload is 1,777 lbs on a SuperCrew FX4 with the 6.5" Box. But I purposely left out the moonroof on...
Basically, I'd like something like the U-haul motorcycle trailer I used to pick up my bike, but with racks above for the kayaks.
Out with the old:
In with the new:
I'll check out that link you attached. Thank you!
Very cool! I was poking around for something like this to haul my Husqvarna and a couple kayaks when we go camping. So far I haven't really found anything prebuilt that kind of resembles your build. Very neat idea, I'm surprised no one seems to be offering something like this.
Yeah, I think the Ranger Supercab is no more. And now the Tacoma Access cab doesn't even have back doors. Huh? So how am I supposed to 'Access' the access cab? not that it's an issue here since they only sell Tacoma double cabs here. No extended cabs except for the Nissan Frontier PRO which...
Done lots of off road with my '22 F150 XLT. It has the 360 cams and all the other techy bells and whistles and the only issue I had so far is I chipped and scratched my wheels. You mentioned you'd pretty much be exploring dirt roads, not rock crawling. Sounds like the exploring I like to do...
Yep. I think new they're about $20? We're too paranoid about what could have been in there before to buy used.
Who knows, maybe the previous owners mixed up the water jug with the pee jug, lol
Wife doesn't even like reusing a jug that had non potable water in it for drinking water. Once...
So jealous you're able to get some riding in this time of year. Looks like a great trip, glad you're enjoying it!
You're making me wish for spring so I can head out for some rides! haha
I think the vast majority of buyers feel the same way. Truck prices are still crazy high. But, around here we're seeing a lot of discounts to get them moving.
