Out with the Jeep, in with an X

Well Mr. Biggs, I have followed your change, and it got me curious. I have a very well built Jk, and been a Rover nut for 20 years, but looking for something capable, less 'obvious', and was intriqued by your choice. After a little homework, I am tempted, and looking at some left over '12 Pro4x...

    Leveling Kit

We did our '00 2500 w/ keys, shock extensions, new shocks all around, and rear air bags for towing in half day with two guys and decent tools. Don't forget to get her realigned when finished.

    2006 LR3 build

Yea, I know what you mean. When I drove the Tdi 130 out to Co, slow going at best, worse on hills, but great mileage, and a bit painful at my size :-) Picked up the LR3, straight to Black Bear and others, then pointed her east and 2k miles later, home and still fresh!! Great rigs- hope you...

    2006 LR3 build

Congrats!! PM me the story on the D-II as I thought it had warranty on the 'new' motor? Anyway, you will love the LR3- wish I had kept mine, but it was so foreign for it to be so comfortable, quiet, and capable :-) I drove the 130 Tdi to Co, and the LR3 back- talk about shocking differences.

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

Man Felix, that is tough luck for sure. Need a cycle carrier for the KTM ;-) And it certainly does look good on the flatbed- especially that CT rack!!

    Meet Harry and Suzie...

Nice trucks and a great write up/story!! The mods will interact quickly, so I will ask first- what is pricing, separately/package? Also, do you know what was massaged on Harry's motor?

Quiet tire replacement for Toyo Open County M/T recommendation needed

Just for future reference, I have been running a set of the Cooper S/T Maxx on the 'burb, and really like them. They are quiet, wearing great, and a good aggressive A/T... And they are E rated which is nice for the full size guys who load their rigs and/or tow, etc.

    Aev wheels or Hutchinson

I'm a bit old school, but I vote for steelies with Staun internal bead locks, worth a look... And, I have used the Hutchinson and Walker Evans, and would say both to be top notch!

    Anti-burst door lock help

Check adjustment in and out and up and down of the latch, as they can be a bit finicky- and sometimes the spacer/shim on the mounting surface can help

    Will LR4 prices hold?

Felix, thought of you yesterday as a fella offered me $20k plus his 84k mile '06 big body RR(aprox $20 k value) for my '11 JKU. The RR had a list of $83.3k, and I had to turn him down as Manheim shows only mid teens for his RR. Or $70k depreciation in 6 years, and this on a prime low mile...

    2012 Wrangler build/Mat 2013 trip

Before kids we used to remove the rear seat from the Disco, and built a cheap full length shelf. This provided a great sleeping area, as well as ability to carry tons of gear, extra water, etc. I prefer to carry fuel outside, which you have several options for on the JK. One big advantage was...

    Will LR4 prices hold?

I wouldn't take the financial risk myself- do an '06-'07 low mile LR3, mods available, and minimal downside risk as they are already mid to upper teens, and a great vehicle- creaky handles and all...
