And a few photos, also on Switzerland Trail, in early March. This trail which historically ran from Eldora colorado to Ward, was originally built in 1883 as a railway for gold mining and tourists. The rail washed out in 1919 and was never built back up again. The area produced immense amounts of...
It is pretty funny actually. People seems to love it, they always want a tour. I actually just got word that it will be featured on a page in Foster Huntington's new vanlife book. He made the Home Is Where You Park it one a couple years ago, then went on to build that historic treehouse.
You...
Hey Stryder, great looking Avalanche.
I'm curious to know how the H2 springs feel. Does the ride feel noticeably stiffer now or is it still comfortable? Looking to swap my suburban with either z71 springs or these H2's and can't make up my mind. I don't want them too stiff feeling, but also...
Thanks Jon, hopefully you skimmed it, theres a lot in here ha.
Ray, looks like he got about an inch overall but its hard to tell. Is my assumption that the H2 coils are stiffer than the Z71's correct? Hard question to answer but what would people guess.
Seems like the z71 coils might do the...
Ya you do! hah... It's really about acceleration and how you choose to take hills than anything else.
Also in Martinjmpr's boat. I used to want a 2500 but, for me, I dont really need it. And like Burb One said, you can pretty much mod your 1500 right up to it.
The MPG is the biggest thing for...
No real updates here on the truck, I got a good bit of work done on my drawer, bench section, but then I ended up having to have a third knee surgery on that same knee. 3 in 3 years.. all because of one piece of lost cartilage, who would have thought.. So I have been recovering from that and...
Awesome work on that trailer Jon, just read through your build. Thing looks factory - if not better!
And welcome to the burb club. I'm currently doing something similar to rayra's drawers, its a great design and could definitely be mixed up to add some sort of clothes cabinet. I might be doing...
I'd go burb. As said, the bigger fuel tank at the same mpg is a seller for me. I love the size as well.. Didn't know that about Tahoe windows, thats a serious drag ha.
Man that 9.25 in the front will be awesome to see. Honestly amazed at seeing the capabilities of your truck in Moab too. It is looking really good these days even with all the extra weight!
Woah, would love to take a look through that thing thats got to be incredible. My interest in astronomy usually goes as far as my camera, although always found telescopes fascinating when using friends.
And of course the red light is to save the eyes, for some reason I didn't think of that and...
Look at that thing light up. What was the idea with the half and half lighting, to designate the different supplies in each drawer? I must have missed your thoughts on that but I like it.
I had a question about how your paddle latches were holding up and whether or not they hold the drawers...
Great looking burb Yround. Always a fan of the white body, black rims combo. the 285s don't seem too big either even without a little lift.
Drawer system and winch look well fabricated! Time for me to finish my drawer it seems. Thanks for the inspiration
The thing looks bigger everytime I see it. Lets see a daytime photo.. Moab sounds nice.. maybe Ill cruise out that way too if I can get this rear end figured out.
Duct tape seems to be working. Also adding small strips to the canvas where its getting roughed up with cloth tape to minimize damage.. Took me about 3 hours to find that post you were talking about ray with the combed pull out bed, some good ideas in the thread..
Will be making some progress...
The light color is so crucial. I wanted to match my charcoal body color for my topper but one day of it being mocked in black and I knew it had to be closer to white. went with Tan. Silver/grey was my second choice.
