Great to know! Thanks. I'm researching power steering options now (Astro/Safari Van steering box appears to have potential).
On an unrelated note, what do you see here? I see replacement cab corners & sheet metal for my FC cab. Big thanks to my buddy Kyle for the scrap FC170 roof. The...
Thanks shortbus4x4. I have perused the FC Connection site a lot (great info & photos there). As far as the front axle goes, I can have the front axle narrowed if I must (trying to avoid it). I have a local shop (www.rocksolidperformance.com) that I have worked very closely with in the past...
Continue to follow the build (with a new owner) on the FC170 Patina Rod Facebook page:

I'm layin' down a disclaimer right out of the gate. This will not be a quick build, so all of you fine "microwave society" citizens might not get the immediate...

I have decided to sell this trailer, as I sold my Jeep about a year ago, and need a smaller/lighter trailer to pull behind my Honda. I haven't figured out a price yet, but am interested in cash offers or potentially trades (a rust-free Jeep Cherokee project for my daughter, a good-running...
It was a bit of a tight fit for the front two (2) bolts. I left all bolts lose, tapped them in, then tightened them all down. All of these trailers I've seen seem to be tweaked just a bit in regards to alignment. I'm sure they were well-used during their active-duty lifespans.

Hi Robert,
I do still have the trailer (and use it regularly). It has mainly been used for basic "utility" and Jeep parts transport more so than camping. It does pull very well/straight. To get the tongue straight, I measured/marked the center point on the front of the bed, and used a long...
Small progress this weekend...
I made some stake pocket mounts for some bicycle carriers I've had for 12+ years. The carriers are designed to carry either a single or tandem bicycle. For the stake pocket mounts, I started with 2" x 2" x 1/8" square tube, then trimmed them down to 2" x 1 3/8"...
Here's the other project...my 2005 Jeep LJ. It's the only new vehicle I have ever bought (I'm 40). Upgrades underway are an AEV Highline kit, Dana 60/Dana 70U axles, H2 wheels with 37" BFG KM2s, Currie Anti-Rock sway bars, AEV skid plates, etc. I'll be working on this one for a while...it all...
If it's photos you like, here are some of the other projects we have going on currently. My 11-year-old daughter Mira & I are building her a '93 Jeep XJ 2-door. She's paying for 1/2 of the build, and is doing much of the work. We have 95% of everything we need, and are into the whole project...
I finally wrapped up the install of my tongue storage box. I initially ran into some issues with the Eastwood primer, as I started the work while it was still too cold (70-90 degrees is recommended). I wanted to test the Eastwood paint on a small project before using it on my daughter's XJ...
I took the day off today to take care of some errands, and work outside a bit. It was nice to work out in the sunshine. :victory:
I started working on the tongue box, and a more permanent wiring solution for the trailer. I picked up a Pollak 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket to mount in...
62" WMS-to-WMS, plus 2" spacers on each side. I'm not sure about the spring perch measurement - they're at the stock width.
I'm not sure about that. My first inclination is to say no, but I didn't try either.
