    Light bar switch gets hot!

How do you know if you wired it correctly? What's your trigger source? Have you got a wiring diagram you can post and explain what you've done? Should only be minimal current flowing through a switch like that as it only needs enough power to ignite the bulb and trigger the relay.

    UJOR Build Thread

Is it the nut on the shaft coming from the guts of the transfercase that selects Hi2, Hi4, N, and Lo4? If so I can see if I can get to mine and see what diameter and pitch it is. Old truck, not one in sig.

    2016 trucks: Ram 2500 or GMC 2500?

Ram over GM. Between the Ram and Ford, you'll need to drive each to figure out what works best for you. I preferred the Ford's fit and finish, and much of my old Ford swapped over. Ram is the only one which still offers a manual transmission if that is important, but it is severely detuned.

I'd still be worried about hitting a moose. Clipping the legs out and having it fall on the hood or windshield is what has resulted in most damages, injuries or deaths. Mostly deer in my parts so a grill guard would be a good idea for me. I'll be working on my bumper next spring and will build...

I used AFE PG7 filter on my last truck without ever getting a speck of dust through in the many years it was in. I have many friends with S&B intakes who haven't had any issues.

17" wheels are the smallest you'll be able to run, and not all will work. 18" with a 35" (or so) tire will put more rubber between the rim and the ground, helping with off-road traction and a smoother ride. 35s will fit well with a levelling kit. For best handling and the ability to set proper...

There are much better filters than K&N. Hell, every filter is better than K&N. Unless you want to get dust, dirt and debris inside the engine; then K&N is the best. Rock sliders will need to be substantial in structure. 4 tons of vehicle to protect.

I ran 4.10s in my 04 with 37s and a manual that was powered by a 6.0L. The ZF6 has an ultra low LOW and 1st is still pretty low. On the top it had no problem pulling through to OD. The 7.3L has way more low end grunt and revs out way sooner than the 6.0L, so I'd say you'd want the 4.10s over...

    Back at 4x4, 313CDI 4x4 Sprinter

If you do a hydronic (wasserheizung) system, use a heat exchanger and a small pump to separate the heat source system from the floor heat system. It will be easier to control the temperature instead of having continuous 100°C+ engine coolant flowing through the floor. I'd suggest using PEX...

advantage of custom leaf springs vs lift in rear

I'm running OEM leafs and 8"/2.5° taper traction blocks on my 2016 F350. Spring wrap is controlled by traction bars. 3/4" U-bolts connects everything together. These OEM leafs are well match to the capacities i will encounter with the vehicle. Coupled with quality shocks, the ride is very...

    Spray foam vs sheets

Instead of having the sprayfoamer come to you, go to him. Find out where they are doing a house and drive over and get him to do the application. Tape off everything you want to protect.

2003 Silverado Z71 solid axle build

Since you are going full custom for this endeavour, you might want to consider the OUO ALAs. The give the ability to fine tune fore and aft position, as well as adjust caster angle. I've got them on my new truck. Additionally to the geometry setup, they allow for freer articulation because...

2003 Silverado Z71 solid axle build

Warn now offers a hub locker for the 2005 to current Super Duties. While the OEM lock has a manual mode the Warns are much more robust, but don't work with the autolock vacuum system.

2003 Silverado Z71 solid axle build

My detective skills will narrow the rear axle to a 2005-2010 Ford F250 or SRW F350. 2011 went to wheel speed sensors at each hub and not a tone ring on the differential. I'm going to assume the front is from the same truck the rear came out of.

The swap gives you more room on either side of the engine, but is taller and longer. How are you going to tie the top of the header panel together?

Need ideas for my new f350 build.

My 6.0L was happiest when it revved; they don't have the bottom end torque curve like other diesel engines which like to lug.

Need ideas for my new f350 build.

Looking good. If you think you might want to regear to 4.10s and install ARB lockers, I do have my 04 for sale. Just a short trip across the border. And it's Canadian pesos. Also has a few other goodies on it which would transfer over.
