Gears. Regear the diffs and it'll make up for the lack of power. You might lose some highway top speed: like if you could hit 100-110 before, 75-80 might be about all you can do. But to be honest, 75 is probably plenty fast in that underpowered Toyota.

Excursions share a lot of parts and pieces with the Superdutys. 2005 was the last model year of the Excursions. Excursions had 44 gallon tanks.

You could certainly get out and have lots to explore, but you would be limited. A big vehicle takes 33" tires and laughs them off while on something like a Samuri they are huge. Those tires that are fairly big on non-full size vehicles won't hardly clear the medium sized rocks on the trails I go...

Here in CO, full sized vehicles are not a common sight on trails. They are just too wide. Georgia might be different.
What about a mid-size instead? Either an SUV or pickup. Still fits in those same places as the TJ but with more cargo room.
