    2019 LR Discovery SVX

Stock-for-stock, the numbers all look better than anything before it. That's a given. The styling isn't doing much for us, the enthusiast, yet, but it is beginning to grow in me as I see more (lightly) mod'ed versions begin to show up. As with each generation of vehicle, it will take some...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

Went for a little ride last weekend up to Tahoe via the 'back road' :) D1, D2, and P38. The P38 didn't escape without some damage but nothing major and all three made it home without problems.

Getting Back To Land Rover (aka Quixotic TD5 Swap)

As a rule I don't wear a bow tie and I don't take orders from an Generals. But if I didn't have to deal with the smog issues I'd be looking hard at an LS swap for my D1 anyway. I really don't see any need to pony up for the higher-end versions when even the basic stuff can give you a stone...

    2007 LR3 - my 10 yr build thread...

No, not the boots. Although I do have a driveshaft with a torn boot I'd like to attempt to replace at some point to have as a spare. I'm talking about the actual oil seal where the halfshaft pokes into the diff. I've had the halfshaft in/out a few times without replacing that seal and I must...

    Lr3 ARB bumper with superwinch

It looks very similar but with some updates. It will be interesting to see how they addressed the clutch access which is my biggest concern. Be sure to post some pics when you get it on!

    2007 LR3 - my 10 yr build thread...

I haven't actually done them yet, so..... ??? Actually, i don't think it will be too bad. Pulling the axles isn't terrible and I have other work to do at the rear anyway. Access doesn't look bad. I suppose I'll find out, but it may be a while before I get to it as I have a full plate at the...

    Windshield wiper sprayer

I've tried scrubbing with a nylon brush. This is not an effective technique. :)

    Lr3 ARB bumper with superwinch

I planned on building my own backing plates for the D90 bumper. It's obvious the ARB steel isn't up to the task so I figured I could easily enough cut some 3/8 or 1/2" plate as large as possible to make a backer. The D90 doesn't have nearly as nice of a recovery point as the LR3 (strange)...

    2007 LR3 - my 10 yr build thread...

Yeah....I've had some fun in that department this year. First I noticed I'd torn the front boot on a nearly new driveshaft. Grrr..... I just threw another in but the old shaft is sitting in the shop with the intent that one day I'll figure a way to replace just the boot. Then I noticed the...

Looking at switching to a 2005 LR3 from 97 Pathfinder

Now you're just trying to cause trouble!

Where should I put dual jerry cans on the roof rack?

Unfortunately, the picture didn't work. At least for me. I have friends who run fuel cans on the roof rack. It works for them. Of course, I've seen them have clearance problems from time to time too. I can think of a couple instances just this year where something has been damaged by a (not...

    Lr3 ARB bumper with superwinch

I did not, though I may be doing so for a friend's D90 ARB bumper in the near future. I just use the stock recovery point under the bumper. It's very strong, but it would be nice to have the option to attach to either side or at bumper height instead of under the bumper. Say when in mud or...

    Lr3 ARB bumper with superwinch

Ah, I see my problem now - I clearly didn't kick it hard enough!

Where should I put dual jerry cans on the roof rack?

Well, given half a choice I'd avoid putting fuel or water on the rack at all. That's the worst place to carry something so heavy. Not to mention it's more difficult to load and unload it way up there. Not what you wanted to hear I know. But it really is best if you can avoid getting so top...

    Lr3 ARB bumper with superwinch

You removed the entire headlight with the bull bar on? I really don't know how you managed that. I've changed a bulb by sliding the housing forward until it hits the bar then fiddling the bulb out but I have no idea how you took the whole housing out. Pics please... :)

    Lr3 ARB bumper with superwinch

Sorry for the delay - I hadn't read this thread in a while. Yes, the access to the clutch is the first major issue. It's very poor and makes it incredibly difficult to manipulate the clutch lever. The other major complaint is how far the bumper sticks out. It decreases approach angles over...

Cooper STT Pro for my LR3

Here's a basic summery pinched from the 4wp website: The tire maker defines the ideal tire pressure for loads of various sizes. You can get the chart for your tire from your tire maker, a tire shop, or online. A less accurate alternative would be a generic chart from the Tire and Rim...

Emotion Over Logic - The AdvRovr Range Rover Sport Build Thread

I think AdvRovr has a handle on the basics. The rig seems pretty solid in that department. And I'm pretty sure he can change his own fluids if it comes to that. Pretty sure he wouldn't be in a Rover if he was paying shop rates for basic maintenance! ;)

Cooper STT Pro for my LR3

Yep, the sierras have their share of rocks as well. Granted, my Coopers survived the Rubicon in pretty good shape but the last trip, which didn't include anything extreme, put a serious hurt on them. Still, I've not seen that sort of wheel damage. I'm going to chalk that up to a combination...

    weBoost 4G-X Review

FWIW I've had one of these in my LR3 for a couple years now. I'd rate it as slightly above useless. It often makes my phone 'show' more bars but in actual fact I still can't get a signal for voice or data. This is with both an iphone and Samsung Galaxy using ATT and Verizon. Over all I'd say...
