Glad to hear your system covers your needs, it sounds pretty similar to ours!
Took out the center console and there is more like 13 inches of room from leather to leather. The fridge is 13.75. I checked the frame on the very bottom of the leather upholstry and it is pretty pliable. I think I...
Looks clean!
Yea i think mounting on the box will keep them up high enough to get full sun most of the time. If we are camped for a while somewhere, we can always remove the bikes. And tilt the panels towards the sun too.
A bit concerned with the shadow that the bikes might throw on the solar panels...Not sure if this is a big issue. Might need to re-think the roof organization.
Side Shelf/Kitchen Counter
So I ordered my solar stuff and the fridge, but can't sit still while I wait. So I am thinking about building a simple chuck box to house the kitchen stuff, but I need to scrounge up some extra wood before I can. In the meantime I remembered that I found this beat...
WOW guys amazing info! I ended up listening to you guys and going with 2 100w flexible panels. They will both fit on the rooftop box. 100 ah battery, solenoid, 20amp PWM charge controller...Still need to pick up wires and fuses. My fridge is shipping, can't wait to get this all up and...
Another Question
Thanks for all the responses. We are going to try to keep everything 12v and avoid the inverter. And we have decided on 2 100w flexible panels to be mounted on the top of the roof box...With the box and bikes on the roof this is really our only option without mounting on...
Looks awesome Rayra! I'm not going to be towing at all so I think I might just hack the piece off and ziptie it to the inside of the bumper, just so I don't tear it off on the trail.
Wanted a nozzle spigot for my Scepter/LCI water can so headed to Home Depot and came up with this.
Step 1: Go to hardware store
Step 2: Buy teflon tape ($1) and a 1/2 inch male Brass Hose Bib Valve ($10...don't skimp and get the one with the rubber inside {$6} it will leak in no time)
Step 3...

Thank you for the response! So your calculations say we can do about 36 hours with no driving before we put the battery at less than 50% charge. This is no bueno, so maybe we will get a second panel. Or second battery, probably not both. I was just reminded that we have a mini solar thing that...
Cool I like this idea. I assume I would need to rewire some 12v outlets to run off the deep cycle instead of the starting battery to do this? Am I right that we are talking about plugging everything into 12v outlets in the car?

I have no idea why half my picture upload rotated...Ive tried re-saving the pics rotated to try to anticipate which way it will rotate them. I think it's because I never pay attention to the way I hold my phone, and this is an old style forum. Do you know how to fix this?
