I would feel better down in Baja if I were legally allowed to have a handgun down there. There are some real horror stories... main recommendation: don't drive at night.
Is it crazy to think that if every body was allowed to have weapons down in Baja that it would be safer?
As far as having the device in hand, I agree for the most part. But actually her routes for the most part are quite people-less/obstacle-less. It would be hard for her to be surprised along the majority of the route. I envision this little sprayer being clipped to her ipod strap and then she'll...
Huh? If you're going down, you're going down.
I think for this situation, a lady jogging around town 5 ish miles, this way should work fine. It's not going to drop a determined 300 pounder but it's something.
But if you thought it was for me... yeah, I wouldn't be caught dead with that thing...
deaf drummer,
I often think the gummerment should switch over a chunk of NIH and NSF money from scary diseases to common problems like ridding us of poison oak and ivy, ticks, mosquitos, and foxtails.
great story bobcat.
I find that working on my dog with common sense in normalish scenarios can save a lot of money.
for instance, my dog had a milk tooth that wouldn't come out. the special dental vet wanted $1200. I just wiggled it out over the course of one tv show. he thought we were...
just like anything else, the best defense is your brain/situational awareness/wisdom. I am going with the spray. I thought the taser would be cool but it seems like the spray is better suited for the jogger/light hiker.
now, being 'with vehicle', you could easily bring along a taser and any...
If i were 200 miles away, you're right, I would. Foxtails in the nose can become problems within hours. I think I am going to pickup a pair of 8" alligator forceps for that emergency.
At the vet's there were two other dogs and a dog on the phone with foxtail problems.
Hopefully this problem...
We're probably going to pass on the cattle prod.
I am going with this for now since it is cheap: http://www.amazon.com/SABRE-Compact-Pepper-Spray-Pink/dp/B001CZ9MRY/ref=pd_sim_hi_1
but will probably buy this kimber on...
nevermind
i just read this: http://mczar.members.sonic.net/foxtails.html
tons of info on what to do in case of foxtails:
"Foxtails up the nose can be even more dangerous. If he gets lucky, the dog will sneeze a few times and that will be the end of it. His nose may bleed, but if all appears...
cool, thanks for the personal experience based information. good point about the weight too.
I heard from some local law enforcement that the offenders will try to trick the girls by placing a dead snake on the trail and saying something like " whoa, watch out right here. there's a snake" the...
have you guys ever done a foxtail extraction in the field? my dog is pretty complicit and I have a steady hand...
he got a foxtail up his nose yesterday and the vet charged my $350. they sedated him, used and otoscope to find it, and then forceps to pull it out.
obviously, I don't want to...
I live in San Diego. My girlfriends goes running 5+ miles everyday. Catch my drift?
I want to get her a taser. I figure a good taser for the field would be a good one for jogging. Any recommendations?
Thanks,
JON
PS: I already tried to convince her to carry a saturday night special but she...

Hi Guys,
I am selling my restoration project.
I bought this truck in February and it proved to be too much a job for me right now. I had the transmission rebuilt to stop it from leaking. The transmission no longer leaks.
The truck is...
rear fender/wheelwell is wierd
The only thing I find weird or annoying about the new tacos is that rear fender/wheelwell.
Why doesn't it swoop 'round like the old tacomas?
old: versus: new:
Tundra keeps them round:
old: new
Just weird that's all.
flatbed camper?
yeah, I don't know for sure, but maybe something like miltary hoops with canvas or something like it. Or of course, the Ute bed, but that's like 2+ grand and I have no idea how long it is.
Plus it would be cool to build the bed. maybe something like this: "Surfer Dave's...
Thanks
Thanks for the info. A regular cab t100 is super hard to find. especially 4x4, especially 96-98. Maybe I could do a 7'0" flatbed on an ext. cab?
Thanks again,
JON
