Shortest wheelbase but longest bed.

Hola,

What has the shortest wheelbase but the longest truck bed?

I have been researching this for a bit. My conclusion thus far is that a regular cab t100 maybe the best. WB:121" BL: 97"

Any other ideas, toyotas or otherwise?

BTW, this site is awesome, and this is my first post, so thanks. The reason I am looking is that I like to wheel but also like to sleep in the bed of the truck. I am not ready for a camper though. I would just like to put a cap on it. Oh, and I am 6'5'' and am totally done with my (recently rolled) 94 Toyota pickup.

And can anybody confirm that the ext. cab t100's wheelbase was 77" or 75". I have conflicting sources.

Welcome to ExPo!

A T100 would be my best guess.

A guy here in town has a T100 regular cab. Not sure about the exact measurements, but it does have a long bed with a fairly short long wheel base.

I am 6'4", I feel your pain.

I'll get the measurement off my T100 ExtraCab when I get home tonight for you. FYI the wheelbase is the same as the standard cab.

Edit: My tape measure says 75" inside length of the bed.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. A regular cab t100 is super hard to find. especially 4x4, especially 96-98. Maybe I could do a 7'0" flatbed on an ext. cab?

Thanks again,
JON

Don't know if this helps, but off the top of my head I'm pretty sure the inside of the 05+ tacoma bed is 73.5". I'm around 6'1" and sleep in it with an inch or two to spare. Would be doable if you didnt lay stretched out.

A flatbed would be do-able for sure, or maybe some sort of structure that encloses the back when the tailgate is down?

flatbed camper?

yeah, I don't know for sure, but maybe something like miltary hoops with canvas or something like it. Or of course, the Ute bed, but that's like 2+ grand and I have no idea how long it is.
Plus it would be cool to build the bed. maybe something like this:

You're probably going to hate driving a standard cab at 6'5. I'm 6'4 and can barely stand driving my standard cab full size ford work truck, which is likely bigger than a T100.

but I see quite a few standard cab long bed Tundras around.

Good point, there is no way that I can be comfortable in a standard cab.
