Found XP Camper V1e with 1 ton truck but 700 lbs over GVWR...

Looks like it was bought by a flipper so I expect folks will have another chance if they think they missed out. ;)

Found XP Camper V1e with 1 ton truck but 700 lbs over GVWR...

If that's the 2016 on BAT it might be worth rolling the dice if you can get it for close to the $22K current bid. That said, this is a truck that has been running overloaded for nearly 10 years and over 100K miles.

2017 Earthroamer on BaT with NO RESERVE

I took it to mean the auction is listed as "no reserve" but the seller backs out if the winning bid doesn't meet his expectation. Sleazy but maybe not illegal.

2017 Earthroamer on BaT with NO RESERVE

Seems a huge risk to list at no reserve but maybe this current/second owner got it for a good price. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if it got close to $200K.

Very Cool Class C RV Overland Inspired

I think OP was having a laugh. Does look like a nice inexpensive RV for someone with the mechanical skills to keep it going.

    HUMMER H2 Overland truck

Interesting thread, thanks! Makes you wonder how the H2 acquired the "poser" reputation in the first place.

Fuel Tanks and Jerry Cans relating to Fuel Range

OP says he is only technically in the US. Also only technically owns two containers for extra fuel. Hard to know what that means.

Sorry, I believe that is based on 20% pavement, 80% dirt.

Technically the preferred range for Mexico and lower 48 is 420 miles. For Canada and AK it is 475 miles.

Fuel Tanks and Jerry Cans relating to Fuel Range

I expect we've all pondered that one! Seriously, just keep your jerry cans and fill them up when you head out into the unknown. Or seek local knowledge near the trail head.

^^Yep, if they sold a crew cab 4X4, 2.7L engine, some decent mirrors and 1800ish payload I think there would be buyers.

Fuel Tanks and Jerry Cans relating to Fuel Range

You are increasing your capacity from 120L to 155L with the new tank. Only you can know if you need more. If in doubt, carry an extra can first trip out. There is such a thing as too much, given the low payload of the Frontier.

That's a cool graphic, showing what type of truck fits each class. If OP had a 10K truck he'd have no worries!

    eye opener about gvwr

Actually, that they have similar payloads is not unreasonable or illogical. The Tundra has a higher GVWR but it also weighs more. You could probably load a Tundra to the point it would have less payload than some Tacomas. No problem, we all roll the dice when it suits us. (y)
