    72 IH + ‘85 Alaskan = Questionable Judgment...

I think my Dad called it "dual low", on his '69 Chevy pickup. I drove that thing a lot, and no... 1 was only used for pulling wagons in the dirt and other low speed work. It would make 2wds a lot more useful offroad if they'd kept that up...

Does HP trump range on a loaded EV Pickup?

Range doesn't improve much by reducing power, so they aren't really related. The only reason we have EV pickups is because many people like to commute, go to the grocery store, and do manly things like buy a sheet of plywood from HD... in a pickup. Mostly because it is big and puts you high on...

Is Offroading in a SuperDuty Really That Bad?

Another factor I think is the tire shape vs pressure... narrower rim making the tread more rounded.

Looking for the most efficient solar panel

Makes more sense to get a bunch of the light flexible panels, join them at the edges so you can fold them into a compact space, and wire them for high voltage. You can then deploy them on the ground and far from your rig easily. May wish to make some legs to angle them for winter use. I rigid...

Is Offroading in a SuperDuty Really That Bad?

For $7k you also get a forged crank and a heavier duty transmission besides the wee displacement increase, I think. I've heard that the 6.8 gets the same trans that's in the F150. Wouldn't be worth it to me...

2022 Ford F550 - DIY - Adventure Expedition Vehicle Build Thread

I've been living in it! Part time... did a couple extended trips last winter. Working on the underbody boxes now. I'm not particular like you, but it still takes a lot of time. My fillets are not sanded at all! Yesterday I had to break out the angle grinder and flap disc and get covered in...

Anyone have success using quality OEM-style internal TPMS sensors with aftermarket Chinese TPMS monitoring displays?

I'm quite happy so far with the set I bought... ~$35 with a small display that plugs into a lighter plug. Plenty accurate and does the main thing I needed, which is alert me if I get a fast leak.

    Cabinet build materials

It isn't very stiff or strong for it's weight. I only use it as a core material for wet laid fiberglass or carbon.

^^^ I guess you could do SS rear wheels, and suspension and tire upgrades, and a lift... wouldn't be too bad. I like this one better though... $219k

Anyone at the Flagstaff Outdoor Expo this weekend? Please post pics!

The Plus is $448k actually. I guess with Rossmonster the truck is additional? Although they list a bunch of standard wheel, tire, and suspension upgrades so I'm not sure. I do think the bigger one would be better served by a 84" CA rather than 60", to compete with the LTi and separate it from...

Is Offroading in a SuperDuty Really That Bad?

Ram Power Wagon, 37x13.5r17. He ended up at 35 psi front and 32 rear... and by his own admission he was being conservatively high with the pressure.
