Do you have any problems with glare off the hood when the LED's are on? I was considering that location, but I was worried there might be a lot of light bouncing on my white hood...
Leadville is pretty awesome, even that creepy little antique shop across from the bar. Twin lakes was great too, but our spare time is spent above silverthorne these days in blue river highlands. Same solitary feel, closer groceries & skiing! Have you made it to the hot sulfur springs in...
Yeah those coils from OME are sweet, do they require longer front shocks or can you still run 4600 bilsteins? I don't really need to maintain my departure angle, I don't get to crawl. I'm mostly highway & dirt road at home, forest roads covered with pack snow elsewhere.
Being a Yokohama fan & just because no one else has mentioned it yet...I'll throw out the new Yokohama YK HTX as a great alternative to the Michelin LTX. Very similar sipe tire for road use & getting great reviews. In an AT, the geolandar is the quietest I've ever had. They're ridiculously quiet...
Yeah I prefer to tell the shop what I need, I don't use my wallet for experiments!
It's a 2012 Nissan Frontier pro-4x. Running stock wheels with Yokohama geolandar AT at 35psi in stock size, 265/75/16 if memory serves.
Currently no bolt on goodies, just a vinyl tri fold bed cover, which is 20...
I feel every crack & speed bumps are fine. It handles big hits well when empty, but small stuff when empty just drives me nuts. There is so much travel in this suspension & I never get to use any of it until it's loaded down. Then it rides like a Cadillac over bumps big & small. I want to level...
No rovers in my future, but I don't really consider a switched compressor to be magic either. If I did bags, they would just be on manual valves, no compressor.
I guess I just don't understand how adding a leaf will soften up the back while empty. I get how it would help when loaded, but...
Extra payload is not an issue, it's never loaded that heavy. In a perfect world with an unlimited budget, I'd do a 2 inch lift front & 1 inch back just for the look & to move a few hundred pounds backwards for even suspension flex when empty because the back is too stiff when empty & the front...
That has been on my mind, level for the looks, add airbags for the trips. Seems like extra money, but then again I do plan to run this thing to at least 200k, so it wouldn't be wasted. Honestly if it wasn't so capable dead stock, it would already be modded underneath!
We do quite a bit of driving on mountain trails when we're on these trips, but overall I just think the truck sits 2 inches too low & it's definitely an inch or so lower than when I bought it. You're probably right about leaving it alone, but I'm still pretty sure I'm going to do something to...
In the market for suspension work. I only load a few hundred pounds in the bed of my Nissan frontier Pro 4x about 20 days a year, it's an empty daily driver the rest of the time. Should I lift both ends or just level? Or both? My main concern is riding too nose-high when loaded & I actually need...
I got 2 years out of the factory battery, only 18 months (30k miles) to kill the stock BFG tires. Everything else on this truck has been pure bulletproof perfection!
She is basically stock for now besides a tire upgrade & bed cover. I live in Houston--Pics are from last week's trek to summit county, CO. I plan to run the truck at least 200,000 miles, so I predict a nice steel bumper, OME suspension system & bed storage solutions in her future. Thanks for the...
