I met with Rolly a while back and looked at that NRR he has. Good stuff. Seems he has wheel options for you. Curious how much travel you’ll have with your lift. We really want to go to a cab over crew (we are a fam of six plus dog) currently in a c5500 self built expedition truck...
Look up Santan Solar and ask for Rusty, I believe they’re along your route. And or if going a northerly route call Nate @explorist life in steamboat CO.
Good luck. Overland expo starting tomorrow in flagstaff. Lots of resources there.
We’re in the diy showcase @wehartstravel
Same here. A few of ours cracked on our way to Guatemala. They wouldn’t ship replacements so I went to Stazworks who bent over backwards for us and had wheels on a plane in about a week! Can’t say enough good about Stazworks.
Ultimately FiratAttack DID refund our money. We had their wheels...
A couple thoughts. We’re running 41” continentals on Staz wheels. I started with balance beads and very much disliked them. I didn’t like the feel of them spinning up, and maybe just an install issue but had trouble with debris plugging my valve stems when airing up / down. I’d like to try...
We have four kids and had similar needs / wants. I’d like a cab over but couldn’t yet do an EC Core build. I found a quad cab c5500 former mobile command unit. (Build thread here in for forum), you can see what I came up with also on our IG @wehartstravel. He’s been reliable and comfortable so...
I modified a truck bed hoist. Eventually I’ll custom build an aluminum gantry : hoist instead to save weight. Also a reversing strap winch (meaning you can crank both directions without flipping the switch.
I used mine a lot during our recent drive to Guatemala when our wheels began to fail...
I ended up finding mine on FB marketplace. I used four across the back of our c5500 expedition rig. If I see one I would always ask if they had more. I did find an upfitter doing builds for Ameren IL I think in Springfield IL… can’t recall the name but maybe watch around there.
This spring above Guanajuato MX. 4 kids, one doggo to Guatemala and back over 4 months. Self build from a former mobile command unit. Build thread here in the forum under family mobile command I believe.

Hi! Fellow family overlander here. As you know you’ll be hard pressed to find a crew cab over in 4x. Just a resource for you however, you might call Rolly at RC in Florida. He does 4x conversions largely for industry (bee keepers etc). Super nice guy.
An NPR with flat bed removeable camper...
Wow! It’s practically new. A great platform for someone. I hope the buyer is on here and will start a build thread… surely other Kodiak / topkick folks are watching this one closely.
