New Guy checking in! Just purchased a 88 RRC

Congrats. Such a shame to cut off a lot of the fenders to fit 35s; looks frankenstienish to me. Stick with 255/85/16s or 33s and minor trimming. I am running this size tires on BFG KM2s and Wolf steel rims, 3" lift, regeared to 4.14, hd axles, Detroit locker on the rear (keeping it simple -...

    Forester: ExPo Subaru Project

Been following this thread. Understand the concern on the EJ engine. I just bought a 2011 Forester (non-turbo); it has the new FB25 engine w/timing chain (vs timing belt):http://drive2.subaru.com/Win11/itsWhatMakes.htm To early to tell I suppose re: reliability better/worse as the EJ; anyone...

    Lowrance Baja 540C

Are you the seller, and is the said card map for the West cover California/Washington/Oregon? I have a Baja 540c already; if yes to my question, wanted to know if you'd sell the card map seperately? PM if interested in selling, and pricing? Thinking prospective buyer might not need a card map...

    guys i need your advise

Leave it alone unless the 3.9 engine is on its last leg and you can snag a 300 TDI deal and install it yourself. I have a 1990 RRC, and like the 3.9 as far as ease of maintenance (sure beats the 4.6 on my DII - eats head gaskets for breakfast). Again, I wouldn't change it. Yes, only gets 11...

    One millionth Land Rover Discovery

Diesel engine in the LR4 for the US Market in 2013/14. Be great to see mpg go up to 28-30 mpg highway miles; 3.0 V6 Diesel is already avail (except here). Easier on the pocket book w/fuel cost for an overland trip to Alaska or Baja from where I live (smile). Plus most aftermarket parts for...

Need bolt specs for a pistol grip on Mossberg 500 12 ga.

When I helped install a pistol grip (purchased used on eBay/missing bolt) on my brother-in-law's 500, we took the old long stock bolt to Lowe's and matched it w/1/2" diameter, course thread, and 2" long allen bolt fit if I remember correctly.

What colour to paint a landrover for overlanding?

Pink for sure. :) Not that there is anything wrong with people who like pink. Just not in an overland vehicle. Like putting a sign on your back "Kick Me". Hostile military will probably use your vehicle as target practise just to mess with you. Fire a couple scude missiles + or - off...

    Let see your Lego Overlanders

Cool thread. My two young boys and I just got back from Legoland CA and had a blast in the Mindstorm class; thinking of using our Mindstorm + Overlanding lego vehicle build. In the meantime, picked this up (# 7803); only if it came in Sandglow color and LWB (smile).
