Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

Reuse your spacer and snap ring. No acorn nuts on the hubs. Cone washers and lock washers. Oh yay. All that stuff is interchangeable with older model locking hubs. I took dials from a 1988 pickup and they worked on the Tacoma hub. The internal gear for the locking hub and the body are...

Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

I went to check out that part on rock auto. If you click info and read the axle nuts comes with it “if applicable”. And there technically is a nut on the manual disconnects. It secures the hub to the wheel bearing. You can even see the threads at the end of the hub in the picture. Hopefully it...

Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

Hubs I wouldn’t worry about running. The actually locking hubs I’d do my best to run factory. Axles are a toss up. Sometimes you get good ones sometimes not. Knuckles would be easier. But also consider ABS. Some didn’t have abs and if your truck does you’ll have abs codes since you cannot place...

Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

Amazon and eBay have the parts. Type in Tacoma locking hubs on eBay and you can source aftermarket parts to build it. No need to change the knuckle as your factory Tacoma one will work fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    3rd Gen Tacoma PSA/Heads up

Here's what 5% looks like.... 60k powertrain warranty @ 5% = 3k miles. That's on old school oil service interval 20mpg loss of 5% is 1mpg less so 19mpg I have a VW TDI and am dealing with the cheating emissions issue. If I was to worry about a 5% loss in fuel economy I'd be dropping down from...

My friend with a subaru had me install sickspeed horns. They are really loud and would be great on the van. http://sickspeed.com/pages/universal.html

Anyone swapped a 2001 exhaust for a 1997 exhaust on an E350 PSD?

It is a van thing. Our downpipe are already between 3 to 3.5 and fully round. The early PSD trucks had a smashed down pipe for body to engine clearance. Horrible pipe that's why you saw lower egt. And I can second the gearing. My first van had 3.55 and I could pull 19mpg to Vegas all day 2wd. I...

Anyone swapped a 2001 exhaust for a 1997 exhaust on an E350 PSD?

Diamond eye makes the exhaust for 99 and up psd. I've read a little modifications makes them work on the the earlier years. But I'm not sure what it takes. All I've seen that's specifically 1998 and older was hypermax cat back exhaust.

Anyone swapped a 2001 exhaust for a 1997 exhaust on an E350 PSD?

I removed my cat on my 1997 E350. Just had it cut out and a tube put in its place. I didn't notice any gains. No increase in power, no difference in EGT temps. And as far as swapping the exhaust. I believe it will fit with a few modifications.

    4x4 Low wire

I believe you are correct about the 4x4 low wire. The superdutys have it as an input to the pcm when in low gear.

Which year 4x4 donor truck for 1995 E350? And question about DRW SRW D70's..

In the earlier superduty years there are a few axles know has Dana 50. Typically they where under f250. Ive heard they are weaker but I don't know the truth to that. There is an easy way to know the difference. There is a 3 digit letter cast into the webbing. 248 is Dana 60. I believe 259 is...
