Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison, COMING SOON!

Because of connections, I could a ZR2 Bison with Duramax for just a bit over 48k before taxes, local fees, etc. And no dealer markup. The insane thing is I could spend a few more Gs and get a pretty nice 2500 if I wanted to. Granted that means it's without things like front lockers, offroad...

    New GM Hd?

Not without violating the laws of thermodynamics. Turning any sort of energy into kinetic energy will result in heat from friction and more.

    66mpg, 14" Ground Clearance, 3.2s 0-60mph, 1,800lb Payload, 826ft/lb torque, true 4x4, 66mpg.......

Not to mention they suffer from less losses. An electric motor doesn't suffer major energy loss from converting fuel to kinetic energy, and even further losses from the friction of that motion, including friction in the transfer cases. Electric motors come much closer to a linear line when...

    66mpg, 14" Ground Clearance, 3.2s 0-60mph, 1,800lb Payload, 826ft/lb torque, true 4x4, 66mpg.......

Independent electric motors for each wheel is being done for experimental electric racers all the time. It provides immediate power and massive torque to each wheel, and unlike an AWD, there's no loss or lag with a transfer case or differential. Currently it's not feasible for main production...

Keep the Power Wagon or get a diesel flatbed???

Not just the fuel inefficiencies, but things like the EGR reduce performance by introducing dirty air to your compression chambers. That can contaminate your oil and cause premature wear. Plus the cost of replacing those components when they inevitably fail. Eventually a DPF won't be able to...

    Texas overlanding anyone?

I might be joining you come next year when I finally buy a truck. Starting in my home state would be best, no expensive and long-distance tows or repairs to handle in that case.

Damn, where is that at? That's cheaper than I can get them at.

    Allstone chevy colorado ZR2 build

It has the Duramax badge, so looks like it. I can surmise it's due to it being the first of its kind purpose-build offroading truck and GM wants to get it well-known. Especially with the upcoming Bison model. They get them out there, seen and known, and that sparks up interest. They get to the...

Is it possible to calculate payload?

GVWR minus curb/kerb weight, since that also takes into account full fluid levels (or should). Normal vehicle weight assumes a driver and a few other things; curb weight is purely empty but all fluids filled (usually). I think Texas does more on age/condition of vehicle...my little Hyundai...

    New 2018 Colorado ZR2 - Icedragonmx's Trip Reports

Do you have a sketch or reference pic of how this is going to be laid out? A ZR2 is likely going to be in my near future and I'm always eager to see other builds to get some inspiration on.

Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison, COMING SOON!

From what I've seen, you can already buy the snorkel from AEV, so it wouldn't surprise me if you could buy most/all of it directly as an add-on for an existing vehicle.

    2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2

I'm really on the fence between the Colorado ZR2 and getting a 2500 Z71 and making further mods to it. That really low GVM makes me leery.
