Sounds like a cry for help to me......... Doc we all know your frustration, at least I do. Your wagon is nice enough to keep.

Restomod to Rock Crawler with Timbren Axles

Sam, I just looked through your build and I now understand what your 4x4 angles are for but I'll be curious to see how you affix them to the frame. I will follow... Im glad I lifted mine the extra 2" and because of the width of your trailer, you will be glad too. If your knee is well enough...

Restomod to Rock Crawler with Timbren Axles

It is a Kolpin brand gas can that I had on an ATV. It's made for ATVs. Kolpin had the original design. It seems like Rotopax has stolen the market from them now.

Thanks, but the "difficulties" have been minor. All custom projects will need refinement. Are you switching to angle to save weight?

I just think that there should be some way to pin the two plates. Also I dont know if you read my comments above about the trailing arm travel spec for the 1200lb system. The actual travel is about double what is spec'ed.

I dug out a little stainless steel Force 10 BBQ that I used to have on the boat. This thing has grilled lots of dead animals and plant life while hanging over the gunnels of the cruiser. Its been stored for a while but it fits in the tub of the trailer perfectly so I added it to the load out...

Talk about contrast. :sombrero: Though can draw a dashed line between them because Daimler owned Chrysler for that year model..... Just sayin'.

Indeed it does, my friend, but that's not all I was noticing. IMO there is no good or bad in either post. Just contrast. I have busted my knuckles on dozens of custom projects and I appreciate the skill and perseverance required to build a vehicle, but I also appreciate the tranquility of a...

Yeah, good for you!. A text book widow owned "barn find" (sans the barn). Were they the original owners from '74?

The jury is still out on the Timbren axles. After I got home, I noticed that one wheel had come out of alignment and was "toe out". There are four bolts that hold the spindle plate, which Timbren calls the Outboard Arm, that I thought I had torqued properly (instructions say 70-75ft/lbs). The...

I took the trailer to a local OHV park that has an obstacle course to test it out. I mainly wanted to see if the hitch was going to be noisy and to see if/how it would effect the Jeep towing something over rough terrain. The trailer was fully loaded as though headed on an expedition. The ice...

This resto-mod is just about complete. Now I just need to find some time to get out on the trails.

Here is a comparison between the the first setup and the new 2" lift. Note that the trailer is fully loaded in the 2" lift pic but empty in the orig. First setup empty trailer 2" lift setup trailer fully loaded
