Propane and propane accessories, I tell you hwhat.

All I know is I love my espar d2 so far. Maybe it will require more maintenance but it is 10000000x better than any propane furnace I’ve had. Variable speed, multiple heating “settings” it will cycle through to maintain temps. Unlike the big propane furnaces that are loud and have crazy...

Our new 2018 144" High Roof Sprinter 2500

Nice! Great color and you got the factory HID head lights. I wish I had the plastic trim around my rear door frame like that, still not 100% sure how I’m going to finish that area.

    Van Pogo-ing...

Interesting. How many miles on the RIP kit? What psi in the tires?

    Vanimal: 4x4 Sprinter build

That does look high! My factory swivel seats have lower bases to account for that, though I don’t remember how much difference there is. Might be worth looking for a set.

    Vanimal: 4x4 Sprinter build

Starting to find it odd that two people got van compass front shocks about the same time as I did and you both got shock boots. Hmm...

Hydronic vs. Non-Hydronic Heating. (Air & Water)

I haven’t used a hydronic system to take my opinion for what it’s worth. I spent a lot of time weighing options for building out my new sprinter. I like the concept of hydronic for the obvious reasons, but it seemed heavy, complex, and to use a fair amount more fuel and electricity than a...

    Volkswagen Vanagon 4x4 Conversion.

I installed metal cloak control arms on my JK and liked them. Quiet, smooth, and I could actually feel the axles moving more freely on the trail. Really kind of a win win win as long as the cost is reasonable. If the Vanagon made a bunch of torque I might be inclined to recommend heim...

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Playing with some new stuff from Agile Offroad and Vancompass. Nowhere near the travel that the ford suspension had, but it handles like a dream.

    Dual vent refrigerator??

Not needed. The heat is minimal and especially mounted inside a cabinet you’ll never detect it. Additionally, when it’s really hot out your fridge probably benefits from the cooler air inside. Again, minimally but not worth putting a few big holes in the fan. This is coming from someone who...

Do you really need an AC inverter?

Need? No. Most things run on 12v. The two main reasons I have an inverter is for a microwave and an induction cooktop. I could run the water heater on it as well (isotherm slim square) but it would not be an efficient use. Additionally the inverter I’m using (magnum 2000w) has a built in...

2005 AWD Express build (not Vanilla)

http://www.raamaudio.com/ensolite-iuo-peel-and-stick-14-sq-ft-per-running-yard-3-per-pack-of-bxt-ii-recommended-absolutely-the-best-foam-on-the-market/ I use this ensolite in my current and previous van and it’s great. It is a great barrier to decouple between exterior walls and interior...

FS; 2010 Ford E350 RB V10 cargo w/ rear HVAC; 2nd owner; CLEAN

For what it’s worth I regularly got 12mpg with my 2011 e350 v10 with 6” Ujoint setup, 35s and 4.56 gears. Tuned with fairly aggressive driving. Much lower maintenance than the heavy diesels with similar fuel mileage. The 5 speed trans is great and makes installing a transfer case an easy...

Dual Battery System with CTEK D250 not charging battery over 12 volts.

The ds250 is an mppt control. Buying a separate mppt solar controller is a waste of money. No reason to spend a couple hundred bucks for a programmable controller for a 100w panel.

Finished my dual battery and secondary electronic system

Looks good to me, that's how I like to do mine too. I can even see in the pictures that the tech flex sleeve is short of the end of the wire insulation allowing a good seal. Some of the responses here are a good reminder of why I didn't even start a build thread for my current rig. ;)

    Sprinter versus Transit?

I think you should first address the differences in wheel base, stand up height, overall interior length, rear overhang etc. I don’t recall the different interior heights of both vans but the sprinter high roof is enough for me to stand plus a couple inches. The transit has a medium roof...

FarOutVan: Ford Transit 2016 DIY campervan conversion for MTB & splitboarding

I have a high roof sprinter but I agree. It handles better than my ford 4x4 van did with no top at all, ujoint 6” and fox shocks. There is WAY more surface area on the sprinter for the wind to act on but it drives so much better even in strong winds. Seriously it is amazing to be able to...

FS; 2010 Ford E350 RB V10 cargo w/ rear HVAC; 2nd owner; CLEAN

Great deal on a rare find! I searched the country several times daily, for months before I was able to buy a clean v10. Flew to Florida to get it. Only I got stuck with RSC. :( and no rear heat or AC. I saw these government vans come up a couple times but was too slow to jump on them, and...
