HAM Mobile: Rig Radios, vehicle mounting set ups, and relevant equipment

Super crappy picture, but this is my current setup in my 4th Gen 4Runner... It's constantly being updated though. Kenwood TS-480 (HF), Uniden BCD-536HP (Digital Scanner), Kenwood Stereo (crankin' the tunes), Kenwood TM-V71 (VHF/UHF).

Are you looking for a darker grey, or more of a brighter silver decal?

    Custom "OVERLAND HAM" Decals!

Hmm... I know PayPal has been randomly switching between a "new", and "classic" version of their site. Dunno if that has anything to do with that.

    Custom "OVERLAND HAM" Decals!

If you wouldn't mind, can you let me know when you do get it? I was kind of worried about the postage to get it to Canada, due to conflicting pricing information from different postal resources. Thanks!

    Custom "OVERLAND HAM" Decals!

Sorry about the wait guys! It seems like I always get a bunch of orders at one time; they come in waves, and being a one man operation, it takes a little time to go through and prep each decal. Not to mention Thanksgiving and all that jazz. **Something I wanted to mention: I had a little...

    Custom "OVERLAND HAM" Decals!

So far I have only sold one standard size. It does appear to look smaller on the Jeep than the previous post on the camper door, but they are the same size. I can alter the size of the entire decal if you like, but the small letters might be hard to see.

Sorry I was in the process of rebuilding my website. It should be up now under "Ham Radio Decals". http://www.t4decals.com Thanks for looking!

    Custom "OVERLAND HAM" Decals!

Not terribly hard. The adhesive is quite strong though. Just get under them with a clean razor blade and the letters should lift off. You may have to go back with the blade and scrape off residual adhesive.

    Custom "OVERLAND HAM" Decals!

Awesome! Glad you like it! Thanks for the feedback. I was kind of worried about how well the small details would transfer. Did you have any issues with it?

    Custom "OVERLAND HAM" Decals!

I can cut any size you would like. I made it a little large because of the smaller letters and the thin lines on the compass symbol would be somewhat difficult to transfer if its too small. I can modify the size if any part of it though. Let me know what you had in mind.

    Cheapo trailer overland worthiness?

So I want to build a teardrop style camper on my Harbor Freight utility trailer frame I've had for years, but I'm concerned about taking it off highway on mild trails. Any suggestions for modifications or certain things I should look out for regarding offroad trailer use? It's totally stock with...

    Radio insurance?

Sweet thanks for all the info guys! Hadn't even thought of the ARRL insurance for mobile gear. Cost is definitely a factor for me! Maybe my security mods will help with whatever insurance I can find.

    Radio insurance?

Hey all. Just curious if anyone here has insurance for radios and electronic items in their vehicle. If so, how much extra does it usually cost? I'm actually still on my parents insurance until next year when it gets to the reasonable price. Just trying to get an idea of how much it would be to...

    Big ol antennas...

Sweet thanks for the help. I never even considered a tuned whip. I was thinking more in the range of performance with a tuned antenna, but I don't need it really while driving. I can just set up something when parked if need be.

    Big ol antennas...

Hey everyone. First post here! Really enjoy reading this forum! Have a question about mounting taller antennas on a trail rig. I'd like to install an HF rig of some sort in my Trooper, and I was thinking about installing a screwdriver antenna somehow. I was looking at the Little Tarheel as it...
