Klamath Falls to Gearhart Wilderness, OR Day Trip

Previous to my 88' 4-Runner, I had a 1981 Toyota 4x4 truck and it had the 4 cylinder 22 R engine. I believe it had around 120 HP and yes, it certainly was under powered.

Klamath Falls to Gearhart Wilderness, OR Day Trip

Does your 4-Runner have the 3 litre V-6? My 88' did and it was a bit underpowered. I believe it ran about 140 HP. My mileage was not bad either. I used to get almost 27 mpg (based on the Imperial gallon) on the highway. I now run a FJ Cruiser which is harder on gas but has 100 more HP than the...

Klamath Falls to Gearhart Wilderness, OR Day Trip

Super pictures. Nice to see the old Toyota 4-Runner. Yours is in great shape. I used to have an 88' 4-Runner. A great vehicle.

Trip To White River Campground At Mt. Rainier National Park August 2010

I had to look that word up...the word "gross", I understand. I use Turtle Wax ICE, Total Interior Care, in the interior of the FJ. I'll try the 303 next time I do my interior. Thanks for the tip.

Trip To White River Campground At Mt. Rainier National Park August 2010

Great pictures and write-up Corey. Thanks. BTW, I picked up some of that 303 Aerospace Protectant today that you recommended to treat my awning with. I am hoping to apply it within the next few days.

What a great video! Similar terrain to that along the Dempster Highway. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

    Dugway Geode Beds

Those are great pictures. Thank you for showing them. Are you allowed to keep the geodes after you find them?

Northern BC and the Yukon Fall 2009.

I'm glad you enlightened me on the fact that Tungsten is not a town. Can you clarify a "SPOT" for me? I'd love to see your trailer sometime. Let me know when it would be convenient for you. Thank you.

Northern BC and the Yukon Fall 2009.

I always thought Tungsten was a town and people lived there...which meant services were provided. I guess what I'm concerned about is the unforeseen breakdown one might have on one of these roads. You can't be sure when you might see someone else on the road who might come to your rescue.

Northern BC and the Yukon Fall 2009.

Thanks Wxman for your evaluation on the Chaser. I've heard nothing but good things about these trailers. I'm also on the FJ Cruiser website and a number of the members have these trailers and just love them. Can't gasoline be purchased in Tungsten? I thought they opened up the mine again. I...

Northern BC and the Yukon Fall 2009.

I was thinking more about carrying the extra fuel when I venture down the Campbell Highway. There is the North Canol Road and the Nahanni Range Road which branch off the Campbell.

Northern BC and the Yukon Fall 2009.

I have one 20L container I planned on taking along with me. I'm not planning on getting off the beaten path too much but it never hurts to carry extra fuel. I know the Chaser is now manufactured in Arizona but somehow I thought you had purchased it through a dealer in Edmonton. They are...

Northern BC and the Yukon Fall 2009.

WxMan, did you carry extra fuel with you on your trip? I believe you mentioned that you purchased your trailer (Chaser) in Edmonton? Which dealer carries them? I've only seen them advertised in the U.S.

Northern BC and the Yukon Fall 2009.

It is reassuring to hear that I shouldn't be too concerned if I do not carry two spare tires. I prefer not to. Perhaps a slow speed is the answer on the bad parts of the Dempster. I'm running a 4L, V6 in my FJ Cruiser which is the same engine you have in your Tacoma. All loaded down (but with...

Northern BC and the Yukon Fall 2009.

I really like your pictures. I guess my most urgent concern about this trip is that I'm wondering if I should take two spares or one. That concern flips flops from one day to the next. Space on this trip will be at a premium. An extra spare takes up a lot of space, let alone loading it and...
