My '92 Subaru Loyale project car

Swapped out the factory mud guards for some nice bigger urethane ones! Also got the alternator swap done. I went with one out of a 2002 2.5L Outback which came to be a 90amp alternator and better priced than one for the H6. The dual battery system is much happier now with 20 more amps to work...

92 Subaru Loyale Wagon 4wd: Work in Progress

I'm currently running the BFG AT's on 14" Peugeot wheels. They have been everywhere from lava fields to mud, snow and sand. I air down all of the time and have never had a flat even though I still carry 2 full size spare BFG ATs just in case. Best tires I've ever owned! I highly recommend them.

Nevada Trophy 2012 coming up soon

The good thing about most older Subies including mine is that it does have low range, locking center diff, limited slip rear diff with 11" of ground clearance. I think it will survive, not necessarily the best vehicle but that makes it more challenging and fun! Especially if one of these has...

92 Subaru Loyale Wagon 4wd: Work in Progress

These cars have a ton of potential with some basic prep. I've built one up over the years as a very capable and reliable overland vehicle. Check out my write up here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=103355 The write up has a TON of info on just about anything one could do...

    Tire recommendations for Outback XT

I recommend the BFG all terrain in whatever size you can stuff in there. They work great on dirt, rocks, gravel, snow, sand, etc... Really tough tire with 8-10ply of material depending on the size. And most important they are reasonably quiet on the highway.

Suzuki Owners; Let's see your ExPo Trucks

Andy, Who makes that bumper for your Suzuki? Do they make one for older Subaru's or could the Suzuki one be retrofitted for an older Subaru?

Finally got all of the lights on the roof wired up, stiffer Group N motor mounts put on. Still figuring out a different front bumper option to take a winch along with working on putting in a 100 amp alternator out of a Subaru H6 Outback to handle the extra load.

Subaru problem feels like a flat tire

Could be your steering rack bushings are shot. That will allow the tie rods to feel sloppy which translates to the steering wheel allowing some wobble at speed. Maybe a ball joint, or control arm bushings, Just a guess...

    Nissan Juke

It looks like a clown car... just awful! Sure one could argue mechanical potential but I just couldn't sleep at night knowing that foul looking putrescence was in my garage. I think I'm just stuck with the nice boxy square lines of the 80's.
