is the 1st gen tundra one of the best platforms

Driving down the road today I thought about the venerable Jeep Cherokee XJ. Aside from the CJ/ Wrangler platform, has Jeep ever had a more capable and successful platform? That was unibody. Not for nothing, but so was the ZJ first generation Grand Cherokee, which was originally slated to be...

is the 1st gen tundra one of the best platforms

I've owned a number of Honda cars and they were all great - '89 CRX, '94 Accord, '06 Civic si...all standard shift and did me well. I've seen the Ridgeline ( both gens ) and known many people with CRV's. I think @beef tits Is saying that in the truly USA sense, the Ridgelines barely qualify as...

    Howl Campfire

Cool. I like that the legs do NOT fold. No fiddling around like there is with my Black & Decker Workmate mini work benches. To travel, just place it in back of the truck and put a few smaller items underneath to make use of the empty space.

    Camper shell/topper identification

I'll second that. I have a rack on my topper, yes. I put kayaks on it, yes. Or, if I ever get a Thule or Yakima roof torpedo, I might put it up there but not for heavyweight items and not very often. Like S.E. said, the topper is to cover stuff

is the 1st gen tundra one of the best platforms

True about Honda. Disagree about the GM trucks being mostly garbage, but...this IS a Toyota thread, so I get it. I've long heard the idea that the 1st gen Tundras are sought after. Wouldnt mind trying one out and even a T-100 just to see what its like

is the 1st gen tundra one of the best platforms

May have been non UAW labor, but if the most recent UAW strikes, settlements and SUBSEQUENT raises given by Toyota, Honda and Nissan show us anything, those folks at Toyota got paid what they got paid BECAUSE of the UAW influence. They just wait for UAW to settle then pay thier people what they...

I'm not driving a Tundra - or a Tacoma for that matter- but I love my Sierra's column shifter. You never need to lose contact with the steering wheel to use it, and can 3-point turn with one hand. Doesnt take up space in the console area (like a car, as someone else said), and isnt a dial...

    EGR Valve

Um...had pre-cats on my '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my 14 Sierra 5.3, unless I'm looking at something I only THINK are precats

    Opinion Please

Just noticed the carfax... Um...what KIND of roof damage? Are there hailstorm divots? Or was this a roll-over? Because from, side, roof, and other side damage (IF all in one event) indicates a front impact with subsequent roll, unless those damages are all at different times.

How recent was this owner's purchase. That's key. If he bought it at auction 5 years ago and has traveled the world in it, then he's maybe not lying. If he bought it 2 months ago...meh. Everyone does need to make money. Nut not everyone needs to throw money into the wind and fund somebody...

Lee's '04 Chevy Silverado 2500HD and Radica MoonLander camping shell

I have been mulling over the whole ladder thing myself. The "tire step" is getting more and more of a pain. Speaking of $100K trucks, I was reading an article about the new GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate. At $97 K it's very well appointed and everything is so well calibrated it makes a city...
