Buying bead lock super singles and need advice

Huh? I guess if somebody wants your wheels they will take them. I've driven more than a million miles over 30 years and never once had a wheel stolen. There is no security solution for wheels. I have super singles. My spare isn't really secure. If you're worried then I'd say park your truck inside.

1st Attack: No longer producing super singles

Wow. First I've heard of that. Thanks for the heads up. I've read MRAP wheel have a bead surface compatibility issue with MPT tires. Also I don't want 41s any more. Much rather have 37s. Do you know if there are any 37s that would fit MRAP type wheels?

Rear axle width of chassis cap trucks after conversion to SRW

3 inches per side seems roughly correct but I'd have to pull a tape on both axles. The Wide Track Super 60 isn't the same beast. Tubes/shafts are much bigger along with the pumpkins and brakes. The u Joints are huge and grease-able. Way bigger than the previous axle. People use the term Super...

Rear axle width of chassis cap trucks after conversion to SRW

Ford switched to the wide track S60 in 2005. Dodge when they rolled out the 4500/5500 series, which has never had the narrow track. That truck is a 2008 so it has the wide track. This convo is bass ackwards from what we usually see. More power to you, but the wide track is a sacred beast because...

1st Attack: No longer producing super singles

Sent message after message and call after call then I listened to their entire voicemail. They are no longer producing super singles or modifying fire brush truck. Bummer. One of the more robust and reasonably priced options out there for us gone. Also liked how they were geared towards 35s and...

    Superduty seat question

If this can be verified, it's a game changer. The problem with threads like this (hundreds on super duty forums) is there a lot of "I think these years blah blah" and no hard evidence and very few thread showing install. Hard to swing on 1k in seats on that.

    2010 Majestic 19g 4x4

Cool setup from a distance. Until you zoom into the welds underneath. Cross braces for the sway bar looks like 1/4" steel and it really should be a brace that connects the rails. Track bar drop bracket looks, er iffy. Seeing as it's in San Diego looks like a legendary Tijuana special conversion.

Are there no side by sides discussed here?

Know that they are being actively banned from many areas, see: Moab. The places you can go are shrinking for all of the reasons above. I hate them. Too loud and too many little kids at the helm for how capable they are. And they DESTROY trails, rub them to the bone and make travel miserable for...

Fiberglass insulation is zoned rodent residential

Every time I'm parked at an east side trailhead in the Wind Rivers (St Lawrence, Dickinson, Glacier trailhead), they get into my truck and eat all the paper. They literally pass over the bags of post-trip potato chips and jerky and eat my toilet paper, proof of insurance and hand towels. Little...

Probably newbish DRW vs. Super Single questions

The main drawback for DRW on a 450/4500 or 550/5500 is tire size selection and lack of ability to air down, which is a big deal if you go into the back country. The reason most go to the bigger truck vs a 350/3500 is load capacity and, more importantly for me, the waaaaaaay better turning...

Why the big price difference between flatbed and slide-in??

I think you're ignoring the value/cost of square footage and over valuing the "boutique" factor. Flatbed campers are bigger. Have you been in one? No awkward galley kitchen, rear dinette, space for a real shower/toilet in most cases. My Northstar American Hero almost feels like a trailer inside...

Why the big price difference between flatbed and slide-in??

Economies of scale. Slide ins are are assembly line at this point. Flatbeds are niche and less "standard". Flatbeds yield more square actual footage. More space to put things. Things cost money. Scarcity. I could go on.

Hardsider wedge camper out of Ohio

They are for sure making them in house. Cool concept. Hard sides is a great concept but you do lose side entry capabilities and any large window view space. Also looks like you might not be able to leave your bedding up in the skinny folding top.
