    New Defender News

The Kingsley Holgate defenders have reached European soil. After 7 months and 23,000km driving from South Africa to Egypt. Seems they suffered more hassle with shipping and customs with personal belongings stolen and a car window broken then going through Africa.

    New Defender News

My plan is to get a 110 to keep stablemates beside my D3 and 80”. Yes the boot is smaller but I can pack up with it or just stick a roof box on the roof rack for mine should it be an issue. Emma and I never had issues with manoeuvrability on the 3 hour test drive, my only take from it was that...

    New Defender News

Someone would have a video of a fatal accident if it was an old defender. There is zero chance of them living from that given how feeble the upper body structure is on a classic. the fact it took 6 rolls, a large lamp post and they walked away with minor injuries is a testament to modern car...

Would the 4” subframe lift and 1” lift roads not have something to do with the failure. Or is that just a coincidence?

    Look at this ?

Can someone explain how having solid axelswill stop a rock getting wedged between the brake callipers and the wheel. Given that solid axels also have wheels and brake callipers. Or is there a rock repellent brake callipers that is only available for solid axels?

    New Defender 110 Electrical Doubts...

Software glitches aren’t just a JLR thing. we have both Ford and Mercedes vans for work. They can equally throw up random glitches. reverse cameras will for no reason not work, but will after being turned off and back on again. they can for no reason proclaim their collision system isn’t...

    New Defender 110 Electrical Doubts...

Not really. the electrics used come from the same factories that supply pretty much all of the European industry. Same with the transmission, it’s a ZF unit that with some tweaks goes into lots of different models from different makers. As for classic defenders and 90/110/127 etc, the wiring...

Anyone installed a Frontrunner Rack or pulled their headliner?

apologies. for some unknown reason i completely missed you saying it was an L322 and I thought it was an L319. As truthfully, I never knew they did one for the L322.

Anyone installed a Frontrunner Rack or pulled their headliner?

The FR rack fits to the 8 factory roof slots if it’s the full length. There is a 3/4 length one the only part you need to keep is the black strip from the windscreen to the B pillar. Beyond that, remove and discard. the FR hardware supplied is perfectly fine for the job.

Anyone installed a Frontrunner Rack or pulled their headliner?

LR will state the roof load is 75kg. FR say the rack can take 300kg. I’ve had more than 75kg on it and didn’t feel like it was going to fall over. but then I have a fully working air suspension set up which helps keep the ride planted. My rear upper suspension arms were replaced only 14,000...

Anyone installed a Frontrunner Rack or pulled their headliner?

When I fitted a FR full length to my D3. I removed the factory roof rails bits and drilled 2 holes in the front black strips that run from the windscreen to the panoramic roof. the FR rack sits on the foot rails which bolt onto the holes in the roof for the rails. fit each foot rail then with...

    TFL defender?

I guess we do. I see them as click bait merchants. that’s my opinion of them. they have built up a good business from it though.

    TFL defender?

It’s likely old news now. the cars have been out a while and bar the minority still saying “It’S nOt A rEaL dEfEnDeR” the overwhelming majority of people who have one, love it and are extremely pleased with its abilities. I would agree on tyres but then with new WLTP regs, fitting more...

    Drug Dealer?

The only time my Discovery 3 was on the wagon of shame ( tow truck) was when work a garage did failed. Cv boot not being fixed correctly, messing about with the fuel system and wiring. that bugger would get me home otherwise. Even with a failed alternator, it was close for that one though…...

New Defender 90 Bowler. P300 with cage etc. On 18s with KO2 tyres. check out the modified areas for the sill areas. Had a good chat with the guys and while doing so a guy at the landy show bought one of them for the competition! They are developing parts and kit for both 90 and 110 and will...

    LR3 Purchase Advice

My 05 is still on air with 204,*** miles on it. i changed the struts at 175,*** as they were getting tired. the air suspension was one of my favourite parts of the car and it’s one I’ll be keeping when the cars restoration is done.

    New Defender News

And I know people who have bought them and had zero faults. One of our club members got a new 90 from the first production batch and has had no issues. Another got a first wave 110. 2 software issues and the A pillar noise but otherwise a fine car. It’s done over 12,000 miles. Others have...

    New Defender News

Oh I know you can. I like the Duratracs, I’ve ran them on my Disco 3 for years but they do have the same sidewall issue. What tyres do the jeep and Ford run? I still maintain the TFL guys are at it. They are deliberately doing stuff to get the reaction and they know fine well it’s a revenue...

    New Defender News

So? Yes they have reliability issues. I’ve not met a single landy owner, new or older model that would claim otherwise… It’s part and parcel of owning one, you know fine well it’s going to have issues but you’ll have one anyway. Does anyone know what the final result of the TFL first defender...

    New Defender News

I think TFL know fine well that a video showing a defender doing poorly is a guaranteed money maker. the vast majority of their videos are them having a hissy over it in one shape or another with click bait pictures and “you’ll never guess what’s broken with our new Defender” wording on it...
