    New Defender News

went to my local dealer who had this D240 HSE 110 in for showing. 3 guys from Land Rover were with it so spent a bit of time chatting to them. It’s nice. Not as big inside as my D3, especially in the boot but it’s much bigger than the old defender. Very comfy to sit in, good space in front and...

    INEOS Grenadier

yup, but it’s staggeringly hypocritical to celebrate this car which will have many many ecus, and yet bemoan LR for having many in the new defender. Why does one get away with it yet the other not? Not aimed at you personally but in general it seems to be that case. yes, 20-25k sales in the US...

    INEOS Grenadier

There isn’t a hope in hell of that car making the claims and doing what they say for the price they claim. That 3.0 bmw diesel has twin turbos, so will need several ecus to run it. To pass Euro 6 emissions regulations, it needs egrs, a dpf and will have adblue as well. All that stuff is fitted...

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

I can’t believe they haven’t fitted the pinnacle of electrical perfection from Lucas. As that’s what the old ones had, and was perfect. As long as you got home before dark. also, I believe in washing everything I own with a hose. My car, dog, house, clothes, everything. Can’t believe you can’t...

Heated D4 wheel. The BBS control boards for it all. The heated clock spring. The power wire to run the heated wheel. Great upgrade for the car.

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

Yup, fully working D4 heated and flappy paddle steering wheel. I did need the BBS control boards to make the paddles work, a heated clock spring and power supply for the heated wheel and the control boards for it. Plus the software enabled to let it all run correctly. It's lovely. On happy...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

It got a trip on the “wagon of shame” tdv6 alternators are held in with 3 bolts. It fell out with one so worked it loose and spat it out, and the 2 remaining eventually sheared. Throwing the alternator out of position and launching the auxiliary belt off. That was last Wednesday so hoping it...

Life With A Supercharged RRS For an Overland Rig

It’s a 3.0 diesel I believe. I quite like the rack. Not sure how many rack options are out there for the Sport though.

Life With A Supercharged RRS For an Overland Rig

Finally found the car I spoke of. Similar wheels etc as yours but with some of the LR accessories to make it a partial G4 style car.

Who ordered a New Defender ?

All the pictures makes me 100% convinced that Silver is the colour for me for my future one. I’m not able to get one, but I’m glad there are those who can get one and I’ll be watching with great interest how they get on and also how Lucky8 modify their example.

Who ordered a New Defender ?

Mine. also for those building the model. Please make sure the propshaft UJ joints are in alignment with each other. Otherwise you get a cracking noise and the engine doesn’t go up/down properly. Easy fix, I did it when mine was fully build up.

Who ordered a New Defender ?

Yeah, she’s hinted at a ring as well. Only after a few wines but the message is there.. If she wants a ring, we are getting a house where I can build the garage I want. It only has to take 3 cars in it....

Who ordered a New Defender ?

I’ve ordered the Lego version if that counts? Will arrive on Friday. Would love a real one, silver hse with explorer pack and some options would be ideal but I can’t afford one and with a house purchase next year. My money is going to that. I’ll pick up one used in a few years.

'Viral' Instagram Discovery Evolution Pic FIXED

The old one only became a 30 year bodystyle because LR couldn’t make up their mind on how to replace it. It also only got forced to change parts when they couldn’t get it though regulations. Tdi became the td5, then tdci. Only when forced to. Given they had 2 ideas in the 90s alone for how to...

I disagree. I feel the new Defender is exactly what a modern Defender should be. It’s got plenty of nods and touches from the older models. But. It’s designed to be relevant in a modern age where the rules and regulations have changed massively. It will go pretty much anywhere in the world...

The D5 is an odd one. It’s got a great interior but the outside looks are very marmite. It’s the first LR model in a long time that I don’t really like. It’s also rather expensive. The outgoing D4 model was £45k for the graphite entry spec in 2016. The D5 model is £57k for the entry model...
