    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

I'm the son of a cabinet maker and home builder and would do the same for something like that! I think... Fortunately here my reflex was to try to break the fall. It just didn't work.

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

Ha--so true! No and yes... it was delayed twice by FedEx, but I did get a text a short while ago that it has arrived down in Jackson. Now I just need to actually get down to Jackson and hopefully have that be true and have no issues getting it from the FedEx store. I've never shipped to a...

WFNH: Working from Not Home... Wyoming, then... ??

Damn, man, that's a lot... that's the kind of setup you see in polar bear country. The grizzlies up here really aren't trying to kill you... except, you know, when they are... (I think there's been just one case in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem of a grizzly ripping open someone's tent to...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

Would I be correct in guessing that for the MIL STD the product would have to still be usable, whereas for the UN 38.3 standard, it simply needs to not burn the place down... not necessarily be useable?

I hope you were in a car or something. I’m not getting that close!

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

My experience with Jackery customer service: 1. Last year I had an issue with my 100W solar panel. They were absolutely fabulous in their response. A lady named Judy helped me. 2. In this incident, (a) they offered no option for me to pay to fix the unit, and (b) while they initially...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

Current status: stuck in Jackson Hole waiting on FedEx to deliver the new Jackery. It was supposed to be here Friday, but somehow got delayed until Monday (I hope!). I'd like to get the broken Jackery fixed and then sell one or both of them and will probably lug around the broken one for the...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

Sorry, a not very helpful answer: I don't know if it still operates. I think yes? I used it on my laptop and a few other things briefly and it did appear to be powering them. However... something killed my laptop battery that same day that I used the broken Jackery to power it. My laptop...

WFNH: Working from Not Home... Wyoming, then... ??

A story below that I wrote of our first night up in Grand Teton National Park--two weeks ago. The girls flew home middle of last week, but I'm stuck here waiting on my replacement Jackery (I broke the first one when unpacking--see my other thread). Once it gets here, I'm planning to head up to...

WFNH: Working from Not Home... Wyoming, then... ??

I think there are people smarter than myself who can look at a bear and say "oh, that's Blondie's 3 year old female cub," but I haven't gotten to that point yet. For me, it's contextual: if it's a female grizzly with four yearling cubs in the relative area of Colter Bay to the Jackson Lake...

Yes, one of the momma bears is 399; the other is Felicia. Felicia has the two ever-so-cute cubs-of-the-year while 399 has the four awkward, gangly teenage yearlings!

I can’t imagine that it was a full meter. Plus you’re forgetting about my foot. Where are the Mythbusters when we need them… especially Kari, of course!

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

Consider that I also have money in two solar panels (matched; Jackery) and that I'm in the middle of a trip. At home, time on my hands, no rush, I would and likely will investigate selling what I have and switching.

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

I thought this was an analogy of some sort, but I see from later posts that it's just lack of reading comprehension. The solar panels are still stowed and have not been used; no damage. The battery box is the damaged item.

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

A few more details, since we clearly have a poster here who is far superior to me/us in every way and knows all... 1,000 or so miles from San Diego to Jackson, WY -- highway miles -- Jackery well in interior of vehicle and well packed Arrived in Jackson and attempted to set up camp, but it...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

I’d be happy to pay someone the bench time. I am many things, but electrician is not one of them… and these things are a lot of lithium battery, which can burn your car or house down. And before Mr Sarcastic above joins in to tell me not to worry about the batteries, I’m a longtime member of...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

Exactly. This is what I would like to know: if some other manufacturer is making this kind of product but more rugged, I’d rather put my money there.

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

thanks for making my point clear: if you are looking for a product that can take the rigors of an expedition, this isn’t it. Some people might want to know that, even if you apparently don’t. I clearly stated that it was on me and that I expected to pay to fix it, not them, but no fix was offered
