PLEASE !!!! pick my new truck for our build

I've had both but the Ford extended cab would be my choice. I'd favor the diesel if staying mostly here in the states, the 7.3 gasser if you want to take it abroad with less issues sourcing fuel. Sounds like an awesome build, best of luck with your decision.

    2024 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe

I had mounting plates welded to the frame front and rear, I just haven't attached the front jacks yet. But yes, these are a massive improvement over the stock 1500lb junkers they had on there far too aft.

    2024 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe

I was running behind schedule Thursday afternoon before I departed for the gun club for the weekend match. I get to the storage unit to hook up the trailer only to realize that the street side tire is completely flat once I got it off of the stabilizer jacks. Brand new tires from Discount, no...

    2024 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe

We added a 7" memory foam mattress and removed the large dinette cushions. With it being just the two of us at most 98% of the time there's no reason to need to convert it back to a dinette when there's the smaller two-seat dinette on the side.

    I'm BACK!!! 2023 F-250 Tremor build

Small potatoes compared to some. My sister lives on a farm outside of the larger town where they send the kids to school, shop, do their activities etc. and she's consistently at 40-50K miles a year. Guys who hot shot for the oil field will have two year old trucks with 200K+ miles. I'd love to...

    2024 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe

Yea we moved to a memory foam before we ever even slept in it. We have three nights in there now and we have zero complaints in regards to comfort and our sleep. I'll do three more nights this weekend.

    I'm BACK!!! 2023 F-250 Tremor build

That's with me actively trying to keep the miles down as well. I used to be a 35-50K mile a year driver, hence why I dumped vehicles so quickly.

    2024 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe

If I can get that kind of life out of it I’ll be a happy camper, no pun intended.

The 25 cent paper towel holder, a bungee and two drapery hooks. Out of the way and it holds the roll to the side with tension to keep if from unrolling, it'll be easy to replace when empty as well. And a "man" add with the vacuum lol.

That's the rule I have in place as well. The toilet is for emergency's and middle of the night or early mornings only. I will always hit the dump station on the way out if staying at a proper RV park. Hopefully we don't have to do that very often.

    I'm BACK!!! 2023 F-250 Tremor build

I am a few hundred shekels poorer today after having the oil, fuel filters and air filters changed this morning. Currently sitting at 12,200 on the ODO as of today. If the stars align and @Kingsize24 I can get together next I just might finally get around to installing the factory Warn winch.

    2024 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe

I had to take a few things to the camper before next weekends outing. Since the local weather didn't play nice for this weekends trip I just hung out in there for a minute admiring how much more space I have in this setup than in previous campers/trailers. It's a small trailer in the grand...

    Truck vs SUV for towing

As much as I love a FWC I chose to go trailer this time around for similar reasons. I simply need the bed for toys and it's nice to have a proper base camp setup and ready to go in a matter of minutes versus being forced to set everything up and take it back down every time I want to move.

    2024 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe

No, the new “Land Cruiser” is hideous and insulting with its awful front end and four banger at $69K. The wife is holding out for year two on the new GX550 Overtrail Plus but odds are late next year before you can get your hands on one without an ADM and at $83K they are pricey for the segment...

    2024 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe

I bet it’s just time for her to replace the torsion axle, they wear out in 5-8 years. The shock kits aren’t bad but I don’t like how they rest the upper tower inside of the wheel well. A furnace/heater is a must, I agree! So far we are extremely happy with ours. Enjoy your GF’s Casita...

    Truck vs SUV for towing

I think towing in general is almost always better with a proper full-size truck as they usually have bigger brakes, a stronger frame/chassis and transmission and often times better cooling systems for that added stress. I would prefer to tow a load well under the max rating for a particular...

    eatSleepWoof gets a Winnie

Ehh, I guess it all depends on how you use it. When boon docking I don't shower every day, a whore's bath with shower wipes gets you by for an extra day and when I do shower it's back to basic training type showers where I had 90 seconds lol. No water wasted in this house, err I mean camper lol...

    Chaser #14. New adventures

I remember when these first came out, I wanted so badly haha. I flirted with a few M1101's but it was short lived and I agree, if you can adapt some of the hand brakes to your Chaser I think that would be a worthy venture. I would also consider an adjustable hitch or riser extension so that you...

I have a 25 gallon fresh water tank, I think that's plenty for the boon docking we plan to do. How big is it on the Winnie?

    2024 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe

The first night in the camper was a success! We went to a local lake RV park so nothing too exciting but it was a pleasant experience. We realized a few things/items we overlooked as well as some stuff we already want to change and/or add. At this moment I have to say that I am extremely happy...
