Great Expośe on the Quality of Camper Trailers and RV’s Today

Yep, just RV builds in general. Oh well, "I guess I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue!" ?

You're right about the higher quality of the best Class A diesel pushers. However, they might not be the best off road option! ?

Since you're looking at a Conqueror, you probably don't need a lot of cold weather capability. You could skip the Conqueror and go for an OBI Dweller, get to a better price point, and not sacrifice on quality. They are pretty comparable brands performance wise, but the Conqueror looks cooler IMHO.

If you continue to travel/camp the way you described, then you should definitely keep the Airstream and feel good about any time you have a chance to fix/upgrade something. If we were going to keep our trailer for another 10 years, we have a list of items we would replace/upgrade. It would be a...

    Starcraft Comet Extreme Review

I'm just wondering why all RV pumps seem to be 3 GPM. If there are higher GPM brands/models that are of better quality, I'd be interested. I haven't done any research on it yet, but will be over the next few months, so I'm always looking for ideas.

What brand/model of larger water pump are you considering?

Yes, nobody should RV fulltime unless they are understand that the needs of the RV will often have to come before any other needs! Your furniture comment is spot on. We're building a trailer now that will have no furniture (we'll add our own), no cooktop (it's inexpensive portable units for us...

Great Expośe on the Quality of Camper Trailers and RV’s Today

We have been living and travelling fulltime in a 2012 New Horizons 5th wheel for over ten years. New Horizons is considered one of the best custom RV builders in the US (and the prices for them show that). We've had the trailer try to catch fire twice. Once was due to faulty wiring at a brake...

You have a number of choices depending on how much you want to spend, how "off road" you really need to be, and how much building you want to do yourself. Rover in Idaho was mentioned above. A similar trailer is built by RKS Off Road. They are still taking orders through dealers but don't seem...

We're hoping that applies to many other products and services as well! But RV sales will definitely be at the tip of the spear.

Great Expośe on the Quality of Camper Trailers and RV’s Today

All RVs are crap. Some just smell better than others. The sooner an "RV'er" understands that, the sooner they will learn to plan accordingly, roll with the punches, and get some enjoyment out of the lifestyle.

That length/width/height is even a little too much for us to accept, and we're fans of the road pig off road trailers!

Someone is going to come out with a larger (7,000 to 9,500 GVWR), four wheel independent airbag suspension, off road capable trailer with a massive solar system, a north/south walkaround queen size bed, and serious four season capability (without modification) for less than $100k, and they won't...

The car situation is a good analogy. One of the reasons that Kingdom Camping builds appealed to us is that the owner/builder was willing to build a trailer that is as high tech or old tech as you want to be. We're obviously going old tech. Rocker switches to turn lights on and off, no bluetooth...

And that's $100k before you pay for the useful upgrades/mods needed. I may be the only luddite out there, but I'm not enthralled with all the newer trailers that hype the "high tech" interconnected aspects of their systems. Needing to use a proprietary tablet, phone or operating system to...

    Imperial Outdoors Xplore XR22

The X195 with the max solar package is definitely an improvement over the X22. That said, the X195 solar system is one where people are paying top dollar for a solar system that is not top shelf. It may perform well enough for those customers with deep pockets and a lack of solar knowledge (or...

    Imperial Outdoors Xplore XR22

I think one of the biggest disappointments for purchasers of the $150k+ trailers will be the solar system. They are claiming a very large and complex system can be installed in those trailers. Those systems require very specialized knowledge to spec and install correctly/safely in small spaces...

Nothing beats a "skilled aluminum weld". Properly welded joints are stronger than the virgin material being welded together. It's difficult to join aluminum and steel, but I don't think they're doing that in the Pause (from what I saw in the video). If you do attach a steel hitch to an aluminum...

I didn't catch those wall/roof thicknesses. That's pretty bad, I don't care how high tech your materials are.
