    2021 Titan XD Build

I really like those XDs, especially the gas burners.

I snapped a couple pictures of the winch tray when I got home today. It’s all 1/4” steel and mounts to the frame where the tow hooks were. At $195 it’s a really economical way to put a winch on a 3.3 or 5.0 truck.

Frontier at the Chicago auto show

I liked that one and the red one. Oddly enough, the Hardbody style wheels are what first caught my eye on the red one, and I like the wheels, just not on that truck. I didn't think the bodylines of the new Frontier really worked well with the Hardbody wheels.

Actually, Sterling Equipment makes a winch mount that is Ecoboost compatible. It mounts the winch above the intercooler air intake in the bumper. Their mounts are available as full brush guards too. Check out this link for pictures - the late model F150s are at the bottom of the page: Ford...

I don't think you'll have any issues with the UCA if you keep the 5100s at 1.75 or less. I need to remeasure now that it's been a couple months, but after about 300 miles on my 2019 I got ~1.6" from the 5100s set on the 1.26" groove. I have a Westin winch tray and 12K winch on the front that...

The real reason to buy the new Maverick

The ability exists. What we lack locally is a market for the glass, so the glass recycling program had to be axed because it was losing money.

The real reason to buy the new Maverick

Look at Ford promoting environmental destruction by filling up the landfills and littering the roadways and parking lots with single use containers. An in-bed kegerator is the environmentally friendly option.

    Trending Today..

Old vehicles are cool and have character, and that makes messing with them and driving them around a fun hobby (most of the time). When it comes to a vehicle that I'm depending on, whether as a daily driver or for long trips, I don't want to have any doubts about it's reliability. If I'm...

Stranded in a Snow Storm FACT CHEK

The article really just illustrates how important it is to not be one of those people who habitually wait as long as possible before refueling. I'd bet there was a higher percentage of ICE vehicle drivers who were worried about running out of gas than the percentage of EV drivers worried about...

At a Crossroads: Planning a Vehicle for Future Family Use

Travel style is important too. Do you like to travel daily and set up at a new campsite each night, or do you like to set up a basecamp for a couple of days and explore an area before moving on to the next location? Infants travel pretty well, because they like to sleep a lot when they aren't...

At a Crossroads: Planning a Vehicle for Future Family Use

Overall, this is a pretty terrible time to buy a vehicle, new or used, unless you have a late model trade that you can get ridiculous money for due to the current market. I'd begin by selling the XJ because prices for everything are high now, as a 2-door it will have extremely limited practical...

Stranded in a Snow Storm FACT CHEK

I'm going WAY off-topic here. It seems like the media and electorate focus on the President, and then congress, but I'd venture to say that most folks couldn't name their county council members, though that handful of people are the ones who can most directly levy some pretty significant...

    Interesting take on vehicle modification

Insurance companies in most states absolutely do dole out differing degrees of responsibility; it's called comparative negligence. The legal and civil rules vary from state-to-state, so I can only refer to how I know that it works here in SC. Law enforcement can deem that one party contributed...

Expedition 18s are great too. The don't look as good as the F150 Sport 18s (IMO) but they're 18x8.5, which opens up more tire size options. The F150 18s are 18x7.5 and 285/65R18 tires spec a minimum rim width of 8 inches.

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

It's no different than the current crop of GM trucks using 3.23 gears, or a lot of F150 5.0 trucks being equipped with 3.31 gears. The more speeds the transmission has, the wider the gear ratio spread, and therefore numerically lower axle gears become feasible for fuel economy while maintaining...

Whoa...the new 2020+ Titan Pro-4x has serious potential...

I had a 2007 Titan, and in almost 7 years and 70,000 miles, it never had any major issues. The dealer had to put a new radiator cap on it early on, and the rear axle was replaced due to rear axle seal leaks on both sides. After the axle replacement, the leaks never reappeared. I loved the way...

    Interesting take on vehicle modification

"Put some decent tires on that new 4x4, if it needs them, load up your camping gear, and get out there and get some experience. You'll figure out what you need." - Doesn't make much of an article.

    Tire size help

Those 18" Sport wheels are the best looking wheels Ford offered on on the 2015+ trucks. They're right up there with Raptor wheels for looks.

"You Can't Get There From Here"; A Definition - Mitch's North Maine Woods Trip Report

Looks like a great trip. Really enjoyed the pictures, as well as reading about it. I'm looking forward to making it to New England some day.

    Interesting take on vehicle modification

I'd say that this is not something most, if any, highway departments are tracking. The only time they seem to really care about vehicle regulations is: 1) commercial vehicles and 2) when a collision results in fatality.
