How would you outfit this custom LJ?

Couple years ago i had the EXACT thing happen. Drove it to work, something felt just weird. when i started it to go home, i felt something 'click' but the jeep kept running. Having seen these fail in fords years ago when I still was a tech for them, knew immediately what had happened...

Pre wiring for compressor - dual ARB

So I ended up picking up 10 ga wire. Ugh was not excited nor happy to re run that wire. what a pita. But I have 10 ga power and ground for each compressor. 4 wires each. came up to about 11' from battery to compressor (not mounted yet). Really hoping this works and wires don't get too warm...

On-board air solution for super singles

to add to javajoe I would also question the reasoning to air that big of a tire (with that much weight) down to 10 psi. that seems super low and honestly pretty sketch. Most people I see with super singles are hauling some serious weight. just seems like a bad idea to me. That being said, I...

utilizing 'open' power distribution and fuse panel spots options

Vehicle - 2006 Jeep TJ 4.0L manual trans Has anyone actually attempted to utilize existing 'open' fuse panel and underhood distribution box slots? curious for 'low' amp draw items. maybe 3 that pull about 5 - 11 amps. according to attached pics of distribution blocks there are plenty of...

Pre wiring for compressor - dual ARB

According to painless the wiries are 12ga. They provide 21’ of it on a 30a circuit. However it looks more to be a 14 ga wire set. Hmm....

    CB comparison

I have one for my truck (not mounted yet) but looking for a compact for the jeep so it can be mounted under the dash or hidden away somewhere.

Pre wiring for compressor - dual ARB

no no . haha. that is recipe for immediate disaster lol. so this is the dual arb kit. Well the one i have is the mobile version but i am going to take it out of the box (if i can figure how) and perm mount it in the jeep. each compressor has its own power/ground wires. so 4 wires in total...

Pre wiring for compressor - dual ARB

I just dont want to totally open up the trail rocker to rewire it for 2 circuits of 10 ga wire. that would be tough and i'm not sure it would even fit to be honest.

Pre wiring for compressor - dual ARB

hmm..... I think the wiring they include with the kits are like 12 feet of 12 ga.

    CB comparison

Cobra 75 Midland 75-822 Uniden CMX760 The first two seem to be tride and true (old) with all the typical features but somewhat analogue Uniden seems to be the 'newest' option, however it does not have the WX option. Opinions? Any particular one better than the rest based on experiences...

    GMRS antenna on smaller vehicles

Still have not found a mounting solution I like very much. So I'm considering this idea. However, I really want to take the top off at times in the summer. So if I put a metal plate under the roof and mounted it to the roll bars - woudl that suffice? then I would have a surface to mount the...

Pre wiring for compressor - dual ARB

so I have a mobile twin arb that I am pre-wiring the jeep for it to be hard mounted behind the passenger seat. According to ARB - the max amp draw is 50 amps. However, it appears ARB is using 12 or maybe 10 ga wire in in their wiring to the compressors...

    2021 F150 vs F250

interesting. i thought that for a second, then thought na it can't be that simple. still not a fan. when i want to go, i dont want any hesitation.... but i see how it could be helpful in the city. not so sure i would say it reduces wear and tear though.

    2021 F150 vs F250

what does it use to restart then? if not the starter? either way its annoying (to me anyway).

    2021 F150 vs F250

Yeah I would probably go to plains. Missoula gave me the typical 'seller' type vibe. Though they are nice, the atmosphere in plains was much nicer, for my experience at least. but i have decided, for reasons, that buying a house, even in this stupid market, is more important at the moment...

    Paint or other coating options

Having a garage to work in also makes a world of difference. Easier to clean, keep clean, and not in direct sunlight when curing.

    Paint or other coating options

Wasn't your camper repainted just last year? I can't remember.... but remember when you went through and redid a bunch of work and sealing. The wood camper has held up really well! Yeah I agree that the info I got from the paint places was highly biased... And I haven't heard of anything...

    Tie down / mounting thoughts

hahah that's funny. it's just a totally random google photo. The one comment i would say is in the case of the first post, i'm pretty sure the mounting locations that Scout uses are just fine as they are structural panels I believe, or at least have a backing of some sort. of course doing...

    Destination Unknown - a 1997 F350 build

So after being really happy at how the frame turned out with using the new product and the new method - especially how well the converter worked, I opted to take another week to wash, scrape, prep, convert, and paint the entire underside of the bed and body. All parts that are accessible...
