Last April I bought a 2002 Excursion with the V10 and 103k on it. It's very clean inside and out (with the exception of a fair amount of surface rust on the undercarriage, and a few small dings here and there), and it runs and drives well. Only problems are typical, minor annoyances like the CC...
I've always used Yakima crossbars and accessories to transport my kayaks and other cargo on my various vehicles, so I'd really like to install Yakma Control Tower tracks on my JKUR's hardtop. However, such a load on the hardtop is not approved by Jeep, and looking at the construction of the...
I had one mounted in my CJ7 exactly like that. I kept basic tools in it. I was very disappointed to learn that there was really no way to do it in a JK.
That is almost exactly my planned use and approach to modifying the (2015, Tank green - but the orange has really grown on me, too) JKUR that I just bought. My very first "mod" was a set of Quadratec floor liners and a hitch, and in the next year or so I plan a small AEV or OME lift, 35" tires...
Thanks, man. I love it. I had to have this color; could've most certainly gotten a better deal if I wasn't stuck on the color.
I've never had a hardtop before and I almost went with a soft top on this one to save a little $$ and because I do like driving topless quite a bit. I'm glad I got the...
A Taco is just getting broken in at 155k miles. (Aside from the 3.0, perhaps, but I'm pretty sure they stopped using that POS in 1997?)
I don't recall offhand if/when timing chains need to be replaced in your truck (especially without knowing your specific engine), but getting one changed...
It varies widely from shop to shop and model to model. I had a the 3.0 in my 1995 4Runner replaced with a clean, low mileage one for about $2200.
More recently I've been toying with the idea of eventually replacing the V10 in my 2002 Excursion with a diesel, and that's a whole other ballgame.
Man, you are not kidding. I seems to me to primarily be a result of diesel pickups being HUGE around here right now. Just insane asking prices for anything with a diesel engine in it, no matter how old or how many miles on it - and of course that puts upward pressure of the prices of any 3/4 or...
Thanks for the input, guys. Makes me feel better about walking away from the deal.
It seems that people get more for these around here than what you guys describe. The cheapest one I've seen was a 2001 with 195k, a salvage title, and really mediocre shape overall. The guy was asking $5500 and...
