Looking to set up a solar charging station for E-bike batteries

I have a friend that owns a bike rental place. They have been given a grant to electrify their cargo bikes and to build a solar charging station for e-bike batteries. This includes the batteries from their rental fleet e-bikes which will be commercial type batteries. Because the grant is for...

Thanks for that I had seen their website but missed out on the individual components. These small relays look perfect.

    Need help finding proper relays

I got to say your wiring setup looks great. But that is to be expected with how the rest of your camper looks. Never seen the relay block those may come in handy for what I want to do with my RV with lighting and alarms. But for the motorcycle things are so tight under the seat especially...

    Need help finding proper relays

I have a few projects coming up requiring relays one for an alarm system for my Class C and another for my motorcycle. I ordered something called Relay kits from Amazon that included the relay and a socket with the wires ready to go. The problem is they are huge. No way I am going to fit it...

E-bike or motorcycle for secondary vehicle

My new ride. I have swapped out the tires for 17" wheels and it allows me to almost flat foot it. I got to figure out how to carry it and others on my RV now and also how to ride a motorcycle. Looking forward to the new addition to adventure. Also got my wife a CT110 Trail

E-bike or motorcycle for secondary vehicle

Not only do you need to adjust your expectations on buying a new bike, you need to adjust expectations on buying used. In looking to buy a used DRZ, I was told to look for under $4k for a used bike. In months of searching I only saw very few at that price and they went in under a day.

Best soft shackles made in the USA?

I did not realize I was supposed to be paying myself. I have been getting ripped off for years.

Nevermind. I realize this topic has been well covered in this other thread. https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/best-soft-shackles-made-in-the-usa.223502/

    DIY soft shackle

Any make their own soft shackles? I am a sailor, and have done some splicing including soft shackles and have all the fids and splicing accesories. I want to try to make some soft shackles to add to my recovery kit. I think the procedure would be the same but the loads and resulting rope...

E-bike or motorcycle for secondary vehicle

I am now waffling between the CRF and a DR-Z, mostly because of the price gouging. My two closest shops have quoted me $7,500 and $6,500 for a $5,500 bike. By the time the suspension is brought up to snuff and the bike is outfitted, I am probably close to $8000+. On the other hand a CRF300L...

E-bike or motorcycle for secondary vehicle

Just updating. I have decided D. All of the above. A motorcyle for me and e-bikes for both of us. I have decided to buy a motorcycle. My parents have tried to prevent it since I was 13 and now in my 50s both parents are gone, I only have to deal with my wife's disapproval, so have settled on...

E-bike or motorcycle for secondary vehicle

I own everything from a folder to a full suspension 26" Stumpjumper. Whatever I put this on will be adjusted as needed, meaning I will likely install a motor on our most simple bike but one day try it out on our full suspension to see how much fun that is. I foresee having a bunch of toys to...

E-bike or motorcycle for secondary vehicle

That is my plan is to get a setup from Electrify Bike. We had looked at E-bikes but had trouble deciding which make or model. I like the idea of buying a setup from them and be able to move it from bike to bike. My wife will get one for X-mas for us to start off and check out how an e-bike...

E-bike or motorcycle for secondary vehicle

Then that is out for me. I am 5'10" with a 29" inseam. My wife is 5'2" and our legs are about the same length. So I am on the search for a bike for stubby legged people or one that can be lowered to fit me. We have a 3 person inflatable, which makes it nice for solo or a couple with two dogs...

E-bike or motorcycle for secondary vehicle

That is some great info. I am often looking at used because I am just cheap that way. However as I crunch the numbers. Saving 50-60% for a used boat or RV where that means 10s or 100s thousands of dollars I am willing to do some elbow grease or take a little risk. When used bikes are $3-5k...

Advantages of ground tents over camping in your vehicle.

I have no more problem sleeping in the back of my truck or a tent than I do sleeping in my bed at home, I sleep poorly in my own bed also. After considering a towable or popup for my truck I picked up a class C RV. It is not only way more comfortable of a bed but when I am awake when all...

E-bike or motorcycle for secondary vehicle

Have you had any problems converting any bike? My old college Mtn Bike is so old it does not even have a sealed bearing which appears is part of the preferred setup. I think the thing is about 29lbs+ probably more with fenders, rack etc. I would think being as heavy as it is it is built like...

Right now the CRF 250s are plentiful used, they have been made for years. If you want a CRF 300 L which I just discovered myself and think it might be a perfect fit for me, better get in line. There is a waiting list for spring deliveries. I have my name on a waiting list and will call the...
