    Uwharrie Camping- Dickey Bell 1

Correct- always dead and always enough out of a way that it isn't visible from any site with a fire ring. While the primary purpose is to get fallen trees out of the way of a trail, it does come in handy from time to time.

    Uwharrie Camping- Dickey Bell 1

In this picture, you see the fridge. I've still got some stuff in the back so had to load it up as shown. Its a National Luna Twin 60. (Thanks Paul @ Equipt- this thing is great!) Side note- buying ice cream and going camping normally don't go together but with a fridge like the twin 60- no...

    Uwharrie Camping- Dickey Bell 1

Decided to take a trip out to Uwharrie National Park as I was in Durham visiting my girlfriend. First thing to point out- go to El Dorado Outpost and spend the $5/day for your OHV pass. Not sure if it is a scare tactic or not but being caught without one has a stiff fine- $250 along with...

    Arizona to Florida part I

__ Hi, Actually, the tray is a full on trailer hitch platform which weights about 75 pounds empty. By the time I had loaded up as seen in the pictures, it probably weighed closer to 150. For the most part, it stayed fairly stable but it would move and squeek: fix? wd40... The Silver River spot...

    Arizona to Florida part I

Hi, I haven't logged in a while.. The fan was running but it was also below zero and two of us. Since we had gusts of up to 45 mph, I had all of the doors/windows zipped/ velcro-ed. I later learned that it is better to either partially unzip a window or leave a gap in the velcro for circulation.

    Arizona to Florida part I

No problem! If you want to use any of the pictures for your advertising, feel free. I didn't see too many pics of smaller SUVs using them and I certainly didn't find too many pictures of the unit being used in winter so I actually had second thoughts about winter use. However, having spent...

    Arizona to Florida part I

Hi, I haven't had a chance to do much camping in Florida but I did get a chance to spend some time around crystal river this past weekend. The GF wanted to see and take pictures of manatees. As we happened to miss the last showing (530), I used the time to do some exploring. Here's a pic if...

Arizona to Florida part VIII Almost back home! Did a lot of driving through the night and 'camped' at a local truck stop. We actually did arrive in Tampa on the 23rd but we decided to take another trip which I am lumping together with this one. We decided to take another 'camping' trip but...

    Arizona to Florida part I

Arizona to Florida part VII Empty-handed, we set off to Durango and next had to find a place to camp. After spending what seemed like forever, we 'found' a country road which seemed rather 'camp-able' Wanting to explore some, we took a trip first to Little Vallecito Dam but later opted to...

Arizona to Florida part VI More exploring along a trail which would lead to: Without my snowchains on, I wasn't willing to risk getting stuck and decided to take a pic. I'll be back- someday. Leaving Telluride, we found some other nice neighborhoods with great views: Like all good things...

Arizona to Florida part IV Next was Manti-La Sal National Forest One of the scenic vantage points: We spent the night somewhere near Monticello where the temperature dropped to somewhere in the mid-teens. The next morning, we opted to take a trip further into the mountains between Bears...

    Arizona to Florida part I

Arizona to Florida part III On the way to Stump Springs Trailhead.. Not one person was seen on our way there or back. I guess the cold weather kind of put some people off from doing any winter driving. Next up was Capital Reef National Park; The picture above was taken enroute. At...

Arizona to Florida part II The deer didn't seem to mind being photographed. While driving around through Zion, we had plenty of opportunities to take these types of pictures. The deer are literally everywhere. Pics from Zion National Park This pic below is one of my favorites but the image...

    Arizona to Florida part I

So after lurking a number of different boards including this one for a quite some time, I've decided to share my latest 'adventure' which took me from Tampa, FL to Arizona and back. I'll spare everybody the trip down since all I did was take I10 for hundreds of miles. I will say that I did set...
