    Texman Build Begins

What he is using is the polyiso foam from home depot, it normally has a foil face on it. It is polyurethane foam, which does not get eaten by polyester resin. But the foam is incredibly weak and crumbly. The standard xps foam at home depot and lowes is 15 psi, jess and I used 25 psi, the poly...

Frame design for squaredrop overland trailer, light to medium offroading.

Okay my answer. Side rails and center tongue from 2x3 .120, cross frames and tongue angle from 2x3 .085. You wont need the angle pieces on the front as the tongue angles do it for you. And really you dont need the rear ones either but it wont hurt. 2x3 085 is stronger than 2x2 .120 and...

Thoughts on this as a base for a build?

It depends on the use, if your bumping around crawling rocks I dont know if I would trust aluminum, it fatigues. If you just making a hauler with a tent on top then its probably fine.

Let's Talk About DIY Trailer Builds - Axle-Less Trailer Suspension

Thats why the one frame I did using stub axles I did the mount like this. The plate is fully welded to the frame rail, and the cross member, plus extra braces to the cross member. The the axle plate is welded to the frame plate.

Sawtooth Unlimited - Off Road Pop Top Camper Trailer

Git-r-done. Honestly the best feeling besides having it "done" was towing it the first time and it not falling apart. Dont lose hope yet, your close, but its all those little things that do add up, but it looks great.

Electrical system for DIY camper build. A LOT of questions.

Look up the renogy dc to dc and mppt combo charger. It is a little pricey, but it is a very capable system that will allow you to slap a solar panel on the roof and go when you get to that point. https://www.renogy.com/dcc50s-12v-50a-dc-dc-on-board-battery-charger-with-mppt/

Tradgrans..trailer build. Its now is a pop top, We have a tent and AC

Awe shucks  It could be done with glass, I did it with steel for several reasons. One being it allowed me to just bolt things like the hinges and top braces to it, two the latches that hold the top down are also bolted to the steel in the side walls. So it was actually a lot easier...

Sawtooth Unlimited - Off Road Pop Top Camper Trailer

I second the 1 inch tube, I used aluminum where I just wanted to run wires, and steel where I buried supports in the walls and use them for wire pathways. Just make sure you wipe them down with a degreaser as they are oily.

Tradgrans..trailer build. Its now is a pop top, We have a tent and AC

I did that for a few reasons, one on the low side will be a bench seat one day so i dont need height on that side, two the awning attaches to the pop top so it gives more height, channels air flow, keeps the rain out etc etc. Also all the rain will run off the side away from the kitchen/pantry...

    Texman Build Begins

Thanks for the price and weight, lighter than I thought it would be. As for what paint, avoid bed liner on a frame, if water gets behind it, it will rust and you cant really see it. Use something like por15 or eastwoods frame paint. Then top coat with rustoleum paint. ( can or spray ). I just...

Okay we have a tent, I will remake it at some point as I have never done this type of thing before its not perfect ( it will never be ) The material is waterproof, and it velcros in place so its easily removable. There are 3 screen windows, one is completely removable for the AC. The ac sits on...

    Unibody style frame?

Your is a wood deck, he is talking about a 1/4 steel plate deck, not wood. Yours is built the normal wall with an actual frame.

    Unibody style frame?

It wont be as strong as you think, it will oil can, aka be a drum. If you could press some ribs into it, it would probably be okay then. I can build a very solid 5x10 frame including the tongue but no axle for less than 300 lbs. Even if I seriously over built it under 400 lbs, and then it could...
