    Are these things normal?

First off, thank you so much for taking the time to write out such a detailed reply, I really appreciate that. Sounds like I will need to do some more digging to figure out the smoke issue, if it's above 60 outside, it doesn't seem to smoke at all, or at least not enough for me to see it...

    Are these things normal?

It has glow plugs, but the light only comes on when it's really cold out (below freezing) they seem to work as they should. There is no big cloud of smoke, it's just a steady amount of smoke for about 10 minutes. Like you only see it if you're standing behind the truck.

    Are these things normal?

Mine doesn't smoke a lot by any means, it's just a steady amount of smoke until it's warm. mine also gets loud around 90kph, but I've been to scared to go much higher, I always felt like that sound was the engine's way of telling me, that was as fast as it wanted to go. Mine still has the...

    Are these things normal?

Thank you for your reply, I guess it's time to take it into a shop. I've been avoiding doing that, not because I don't want to, but because I don't know how to find a shop that will have any idea how to work on this thing. I feel like I would have to not only find a diesel shop, but one that...

    Are these things normal?

I was wondering about that. My light also only comes on when it's really cold, but I can hear a relay click off after 10 or 15 seconds, and I've noticed that if it's cold, but not cold enough for the light to come on, it still starts a lot easier if I wait until I hear the relay click off before...

    Are these things normal?

I've owned a lot of cars in my life, but nothing like this before. So I'm not sure what is "normal" and what I should get checked out. My rig is a 1993 JDM imported Mitsubishi Fuso Canter FG437, 4x4, 4.2L 4D33, 5 speed transmission, only about 45,000 miles (73,000 KM), weighs about 11,000 LBS...

THANK YOU! you're awesome! I don't know why I couldn't find any of that, I was searching for days.

Anyone found an Air Filter for the 4D33?

I have a 1993 FG437E with the 4.2L 4D33 engine, and I have searched high and low to find an air filter with no luck. I have found a couple dealers selling them in other countries but none that will import to the US. Has anyone else had any luck? The filter in there now has no markings on it...

    Insurance on Imported RV?

DO you know if they have coverage in the USA? I can only find Canada and UK.

    Insurance on Imported RV?

That sounds like the type of company I need, but when I search for "Golf Coast Insurance" I find a ton of companies with that name, do you have a link?

    Insurance on Imported RV?

Does anyone have experience on getting full coverage on an imported RV? Mine came from Japan, so it doesn't have the standard American vin number: it only has 12 digits instead of 17. So my insurance (Progressive) says they will give me the required liability insurance but won't cover the cost...

New Here, have a couple questions about my Fuso.

It's not turbocharged, I wish it was and plan on looking into the feasibility of adding one. Yesterday I came home over the pass (11% grade) and couldn't go above 30mph most of the way up.

I finally got it home, and it is a FG437

New Here, have a couple questions about my Fuso.

Thank you for the information, I will check for the vin plate when I get it back to my house this weekend. It is RHD so at least now I know where to check. Is there a chart somewhere that could help my figure out what size tires work with what gear ratios? It does have a high/low range...

New Here, have a couple questions about my Fuso.

No, the cab-over keeps it from tilting, so instead it has an engine cover between the front seats. What I would call a "dog house".

New Here, have a couple questions about my Fuso.

Two days ago I made my bank account a lot lighter and bought myself my dream camper. I know it's not at new or fancy as many of yours but I love it! It's a 1993 "Earth Run" camper imported from Japan, with 75,000 Kilometers (46K miles) and a 4.2L 4D33 engine (I'm pretty sure), and of course...
