Truck is brand new to me, haven't touched the tranny fluid. It's definitely on my maintenance list.

I'll take a peak at my engine mounts

Have not checked the engine mounts. It sounds like it's coming from the rear of the truck, so I didn't even suspect engine mounts. Is there an easy way to check the mounts?

I believe it. My montero guy told me that he sees more problems with the 3.8 and thinks of the 3.5 as more reliable. That info along with the rear limited slip pushed me towards the 3.5.

Too cool. Low mileage too. My 95 5-speed had 240,000 miles on it when I sold it still running strong. Didn't know they made a manual with the rear locker.
