Crank or cam sensor would be my starting point. Not sure about the condensation, I’ve never noticed that in the years I’ve had my 2.5 Those connections should be immune to a little condensation.

Just got done doing rear wheel bearings on a car. The hub and bearing assembly is all one unit. This assembly is bolted to the vehicle suspension with (4) 3/8 » bolts torqued to 37 ft lbs. The wheel hub side is a five stud, standard diameter (1/2 inch probably) studs which are torqued to 100+...

I’m all for trying and learning new things, but fuel injectors are something I’ll gladly leave to a qualified shop. They are mission critical hardware and buried deep enough in my 6G74 that Id rather not experiment with them.

Just have the current original ones tested and cleaned. I have 230k on mine with no issues. They are original so they are also close to 25 years old.

I dumped 4-5k into mine 10+ years ago and assumed I was shoveling money into the fire……the world around us proved me wrong. If I could find one without rust but in mechanical condition of my own, id guess a minimum of $10k so you are probably in the ballpark. I’d have to guess the best...

My 98 6G74 doesn’t have a knock sensor…..I feel a distant memory of thinking a similar thing as you when I did my engine years ago…..you sure you are actually missing it?

UPDATE: while trying to flush the front circuits I broke off the bleeder screw for the front right. When I took off the caliper for replacement this is what it looked like. It was not leaking. Both pistons looked this way, and this is what it looked like after I slid it off the rotor with brake...

So the seals inside must go bad eventually…..I mean mine is 24 years old. They have that lever with the spring attached to the body, that moves a piston / plunger inside the valve body, it must have similar characteristics to a master cylinder. Eventually it will fail when the seals inside fail...
