Kevin NY,
I know you just found a good one in Albuquerque but I was wondering if you just happened upon it or if you were looking in a specific place or found it at Carmax or what?
Where/how did you find one so quickly with the lockers? Any special sites you were searching that another guy like you might look/shop?
I have had and loved my 2004 Disco since I took it off the showroom floor. I have spent a lot of hours and $$$ readying it for Overlanding, have been on two...
Superu,
Sorry you are having to endure this....back to the point of your question.
I think the '04 is by far the most advanced of all of the discos. It has a few more electronics and wizardry, but it is the same basic truck. I would suggest getting one for your bride, let her try it out...
All I can say is WELCOME to the family!!! Hope you join.....I picked my 04 Disco from the showroom floor. It has been a fantastic truck, I have had very few problems to speak of and it is my DD. I do off road it, but nothing real serious. I put a slight lift, some sliders and a bull bar and a...
The power/extension from the truck is a fine idea and will work well for anyone. As far as the power required to run it and the $300 setup for the battery system, I would question. I purchased an Odyssey ($175) from EE and it has worked great up to three days without starting the motor and it...
Early morning, cold start. Engine acts like the old olf 4 barrel Holly (quadrabog)....if you give it any gas, it just totally bogs down like it is flooding. Today, the engone light has come on.
Any ideas or thoughts of causes?
Agreed completely on the salesman....the only reason I leave it running here is in the summer. On a job or otherwise, it is so hot down here in WEST Texas that we might leave it running for an our or so if we run in for lunch or have a task that is not going to take too long. Even an afternoon...
Cory, I have a bad back as well as Sciatica, I cannot say enough good about the Kermit Chair, Pricey, but storage is nil, comfortable as all get out and very sturdy with arms. Be sure and order the legs extensions as well, they are great.
Outback,
Sure is a fine looking truck. I was shopping last week for the exact same rig. You mentioned the problems experienced with the Chevy. I have a question, do you and your team leave these engines idling for long periods? Longer than 30 minutes?
When I was shopping them last weekend...
This is awesome. I have been trying to get my buddies in the Texas Rovers to get onthe HAM band wagon. I copied and pasted your entire thread into the Texas Rovers portal. Hopefully you dont mind.
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! Thanks for sharing. I have always wanted to drive these trails but have never had any other vehicles to join me in case of an emergency. Really beautiful. Thanks again.
Tony, you are very correct.....however there was a subsequent post from Shane below that I thought meant something else. Sorry Shane if I misunderstood.
I will work on converting to excel for everyone, but it will take me some time.
OK, sorry for the photos or lack thereof. In regard to the dual handset comment, what I meant was a spot for the handset to connect to the radio itself instead of the control head. I am mounting the face at the overhead console, but want the handset connected to the radio which will be under...
