    Toyo OPEN COUNTRY A/T II

Gross weight has been 11,300 - 10,500. Speeds mostly from 65-80 mph, and I'm genrally pretty smooth and soft on the skinny pedal. 60 psi front, 80 psi rear, less off-pavement. 8,397 miles, all four down to 13/32" = 2,099 miles per 1/32". This is very rapid wear in my book, though newer...

    Toyo OPEN COUNTRY A/T II

Nice size and tread choice Dan. A couple times now I've second guessed myself for not 'going big' (preferring to avoid width) and choosing a tire available in the 305/70R18 size, instead getting a narrower (good) and shorter (not as good) size. Maybe the width is worth the slightly taller tire...

    Jack's 2007 Chevy Build

Pretty hard to dismiss the capability of modern heavy-duty pickups...capable of hauling a camper and pulling a travel trailer! :)

Toyo MT 255/85R16 (and comparison pics)

That's a pretty cool idea, though I doubt it will happen (we can hope). The closest/recent example of this I can recall is when Cooper offered the Discoverer S/T, and Discoverer S/T "C"... as I remember it the S/T C had a more cut/chip resistance compound and was targeted at the commercial...

Toyo MT 255/85R16 (and comparison pics)

Surely some people are running the popular Toyo M/T, but if you are specifically asking about the 255/85 size, who knows how many there are participating here on ExPo and running that Toyo thread? It's been about 4 years since I ran a set of these on my F-350, they didn't stay long as they...

    Birth of My Kimberley Karavan

That may be what they say, though the hearsay I've heard attributed to the engineers has been concerns about the diesel torque and the lockers. Both may/can be valid. My experience using diesel pickups for various duties over the past two decades is that while they surely can sink easily when...

    Birth of My Kimberley Karavan

Many people on ExPo (and other places) have good knowledge and experience... I've towed plenty of trailers, including larger and heavier travel trailers, off-highway trailers, etc. So have others. Some corrections... My current project is a '14 Dodge/Ram Cummins 2500. It is not currently...

    Nitto Exo Grappler AWT

Thanks for sharing that report. Ice and snow performance is one of the tire's primary design targets, along with good 'commercial traction' and longevity. Longevity is a tough one as modern heavy-duty diesel trucks have much torque.

    Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx

That is pretty fast wear, about 1,500 miles per 1/32", right? But, your use sounds really hard, with few easy highway miles to even out/slow down the trail wear. Did you subject the rig to the same use/duty-cycle before the S/T MAXX were added? With what tire?

"Exo Grapplers" look less aggressive than A/T2... Or Terra Grapplers?

    '10 Tundra CrewMax

Well stated. My Raven FWC was loaded with options, heavy, and so is the Tundra... The truck handled amazingly well with that load, which was well over the GVWR.

    The 255/85R16 Tire Official List

At the SEMA Show this year the Mickey Thompson/******** Cepek guys shared that they had introduced the Extreme Country too early at the 2014 SEMA Show... All sizes really weren't ready/available until later in 2015 (same comment was attributed to other MT tires), and they were talking about the EC...
