I purchased a MXT400 and had an issue with it on one of the local GMRS repeaters. Midland was great and paid for the shipping both ways to get the radio working correctly. Definitely a company to be supported as they support the forum.

I just zip-tied mine along the frame to the rear and didn't worry about it. 19 years later it is still hanging on and haven't had a problem. Off to knock on some wood.... Carl

Good plan on the upgrade of the radio. You should be happy with it. It's a solid radio and a good antenna choice to boot. Much better than a HT and you won't need to worry about charging it.
