I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. I do hate a loud fridge. However, it does my heart good to hear this one instance of someone NOT proclaiming that Engel is the best fridge in the world and all others suck and are worthless, etc. etc.
Get yourself a commercial diesel fuel card and fuel up diesel and DEF at the truck pumps at truck stops. It's a much more pleasant experience with a big diesel vehicle.
Never let your DEF get low or anywhere near empty. I know nothing about FUSO's but i can't imagine they are any different...
Oh wow, I figured you were well aware of Sportsmobiles and offroad American camper vans and had probably ruled them out already. Sounds like you have a lot to learn and I do not mean to sound like a Jerk. Read up here on the van forums and over at the Sportsmobile forum. They are very capable...
Spot on about Tern. I know and love the quality but the last sentence is what I'm trying to work around. I know you get what you pay for but still, I'm human.
To properly charge a lithium battery bank from a vehicle's 12v alternator. Older battery technology (AGM, lead acid, etc.) was happy with a simple isolator setup but lithium is not.
DC to DC chargers also charge solar banks, thus simplifying electrical systems somewhat.
Thanks Idasho, that is probably a much better plan. At first glance prices seem to be about the same.
If this thread gets a little traction I'd still like to hear whether or not these Amazon ones are good or not.
These things. I am interested in trying on on a van top but I have found no reviews anywhere on them. They are 20x20. I'm trying to get away from the standard Maxxair/Fantastic Vent 14x14 style for a few reasons, mostly lack of light and airflow and that they aren't very reliable fans long...
I'd find a used Sportsmobile or Ford/Quigley campervan with either a pop top or high top. There are plenty around in your budget.

However, your favourite ;) word and northern Canada plans lead...
I'm no expert in any of this but what I simply do not get is why even try to market a half ton, or any consumer truck, to pull 14k? Just makes no sense. 99% of half ton buyers are never going to tow more than half that. Anyone who wants to tow that is never going to buy a truck that small.
Yes, you are missing an OEM seal of some sort and maybe some clips. I can't remember at the moment how the Chevy fixed windows are held in place. I did swap some rear fixed to vented just a couple of years ago and the proper hardware/gaskets were available from a Chevy dealer still.
