It's because the 05+ super duty axles have an insane amount of steering angle. Stock is nearly 45 degrees.

Gray duramax is at 157ish in this picture, my blue truck is 146ish, some spots are tight but the duramax has an 05+ super duty Dana60 and the turning is incredible on that axle. I'm swapping to a Super duty 60 as well with even more steering than the duramax with his relatively stock axle.

That's not a bench seat by any means, they are still individual bucket seats, the console is a separate seat that bolts in between the two, the only two options were thcenter jump seat w/ flip up console, of the full length center console with captains chairs on Tahoe's and Suburbans
